Totally agree, I was just reinforcing Paul's point to MM that, whatever their job titles were, when Smith took over at Wire he was in charge of coaching the team and Lowes was demoted to working under him.

So to relate it back yo us, do we really want Bomber coaching the team? No thanks.
So if he was to be a proper DOR then Agar still coaches, no thanks.

That is my point, if a DOR is appointed I believe he would coach from day one, and Agar will be phased out!

Did you see Bomber on Super League Supermen recently? I would be very surprised if he has any plans to jump into a coaching role anytime soon. Advisory role to Adam Pearson is more likely.
Simon Moran and Adam Pearsons reasons for appointing a DOR (assuming we are) are very different but will hopefully end up with similar results.

Not nessecarily, depends on how AP sees the role of a DOR. If he was brought in to coach then why not just do that?
Also depends on who the DOR is.

Fair point, however if it is how Wire saw the role as DOR it could be a good result for us.
I personally would still like Nobby. I do not want Bomber /Kear or any other coach who we have had already.

Ok so just to be clear, what you're saying is that, rather than Agar simply being removed and replaced with someone capable ASAP, what you'd like to see is the slow-bleeding of his tenure being prolonged by appointing someone above him in order to gradually phase him out (and no doubt leading to another disruptive power struggle a la J Sharpe and Uncle Dennis).
Furthermore, you'd like to see Bomber being put in place as the man to ultimately replace Agar via this drawn-out method, a man who won the square root of nothing during his previous time at the club and who's record since he left us has been abysmal.
Why do you think this is a good plan?

That we avoid having to pay off the remainder of his contract he can twiddle his thumbs, carry the water or be ball boy.

| I am sure even Agar would have had more success with Warrington's open cheque book at his disposal, Warrington is a bad example to use.
If we are seeking a Director of Rugby then I am sure there are others out there with the necessary qualifications to support Adam in the short term future. But I wouldn't touch any of those mentioned. Though now the queen of rugby has gone Shaun would probably jump at the chance....

Like Cullen did you mean?
You've missed the point entirely, the only reason Warrington is being mentioned is because it is an example of a D.O.R being brought in above an existing Head Coach. If you'd bothered to read the thread before you interjected then I'm sure you would have realised that.

| With Chan signing at Giants, we must be able to pick up one of their back rowers if Washy were to leave, even just to cover so we're not straight into kids with an injury?

Don't think we need a back rower tbh. I'm happy with Tickle, Manu & Westerman, backed up by Kent/Cunningham/Green. Then there's Mike Burnett who should be a bit better with a year at Quins under his belt.
