Ah you were referring to the drugs ban. I was referring to the recent criminal allegations against him, which proved to be unfounded.



His drugs problems didn't prevent him becoming a referee after he retired from playing by the way, just as Hock's past drugs ban didn't prevent him being picked for England.



I think you need to distinguish between players who have fallen foul of the sporting authorities for drugs (be they performance enhancing or recreational) such as Bloem and Hock and players who have fallen foul of the police and the courts for criminal offences, like Reardon and Cockayne.

It seems somehow strangely appropriate that Fred's first ever post should be on the Hull FC board.
