The club have a got a job on not only re engage with its fan base and its core supporters but also to convince them it'll be different this time and to renew once again.
If the recruitment had been a little more exciting then maybe but I think to say easily 4000 is underestimating the strength of feeling of discontent.
I hope I'm wrong but do feel if the club hit 4K renewals then they've done well'"
I just hope they’ve been realistic and budgeted for the big decrease in memberships and attendances. It’s not just financially the IMG threshold is 7.5K average and we’ll only get 1 derby next season so there’s that to think about too.
Like Eamon McManus alluded to when talking about Saints finances he thinks not keeping competitive is a false economy in this sport. AP obviously thinks differently but I’m not so confident in the supporters loyalty. I know so many previous die hards who’ve said they won’t be bothering anymore.'"
Your last two sentences are pretty much my concerns as listening to everyone around where I sit through last season and this season with most being what you'd call die hards, the feeling of discontent is deep. I know most if not everyone has probably said at some point 'I've had enough' but then renewed once again but this season it has felt totally different when its been said. Many backed the club through lockdown when struggling financially themselves which could be a reason for the depth of feeling why they feel cheated and let down on top of the way the clubs been run so poorly.
The number of people that renewed passes for this season but have just chucked in the towel mid summer to do other things and getting enjoyment is again another concern. Even as a long standing pass holder I am guilty myself of deciding do other things which I've enjoyed doing instead of going to every game as I used to. That is the real danger the club face is getting those fans to renew, many I've spoken to are pretty adamant that they are done as they simply do not enjoy it anymore or the way they feel after attending a game.
I'm fortunate I can afford to renew without worrying too much about it and will do so to support the club financially but I will most likely pick and chose my games depending on other choices I have for my time.
Anyway on to Saturday, can't see anything other than a large margin of defeat unfortunately given the 21 man squad released and we simply just aren't good enough at all.

| Tomorrow will be the first game I have chosen not to attend since the early noughties. I'll probably go next week just to see off Carlos and Houghton but my expectations are zero. Not sure how long I'll last next season if there isn't clear improvement by Easter.

We are a generally fickle bunch- a couple of wins next season would see the disenchanted rush back. I am not immune to the affects of the dross served up this season but I try to see the bigger picture. If a supportive crowd can be the 14th man then a critical, booing set of fans can be a red or yellow card. This year has tested everyone’s patience but it sorts the real fans from the rest. Charles, Moy, Litten, Martin, Laidlaw, Gardiner and Barron to name but a few will have had the most valuable experience. It bodes well

How dare you contaminate this forum with reason and optimism. This season has found the real fans anywho love the club in any kind of weather/crisis

| I'll be there for the last two games. I'll also be renewing for next season for me and my two grandchildren. I posted earlier "what happened to In any kind of weather" and I was referring not to a magazine but to the alleged loyalty of our supporters. I agree that this year has been worse than awful, but that's this year and with the changes being made I'm sure we'll see an improvement in 2025. Come on, lets get behind them!

The weather's been fecking awful for years. No wonder people have had enough.
The supporters have been far more loyal than the club has any right to expect

| I see burough has been recalled to their 21 man squad but no place for cust. They have 6 of their squad numbers 1 to 7 in there, we have 1. Just about sums things up

| The club have played on “in any kind of weather “ too many years now.
Not sure how many clubs would still be posting 10K crowds after the dirge we’ve endured over the last few years.

| Another note on next years attendances I’ve heard a few people say they’ll not renew while Pearson is still the owner. I think a clean break would maybe bring in a bit of optimism and help sales, but it’s going to go the other way, people have convinced themselves with silly rumours that the club is going to be bought out when it isn’t and will end up disappointed.

People say a lot of things through frustration but despite your continuous doom mongering attendances next year will be roughly the same as this year.

I think you’ll be very wrong on that but either way other than remaining as customers ourselves there’s not a lot we can do about the choices of others.
Like I say although the lack of crowd today and likely hammering (we keep saying we’ve hit rock bottom but I actually think today might actually be ground zero) will be painful for those of us who love this club it might serve as a further wake up call for the hierarchy to make a real push at keeping supporters. I’m assuming this might happen when the off field investment situation is sorted, although with signings pretty much done and prices set they’ll have to be pretty innovative at creating a buzz.

| A win for Salford will see them qualify for the play-offs.
Looking at the current state of play around the 5th-7th group, there is a decent chance Catalans will be in the same situation when they arrive here next Saturday.
Unless our team wake themselves up from the lethargy which has enveloped them in recent weeks (unlikely I think you have to say!) then we will finish 2024 as we started it, being outclassed by teams more focussed and way better organized than ourselves.
On the plus side, at least I will have plenty of room to stretch my legs out in South Stand whilst watching the last two ritual humiliations in a year we will probably never forget (for all the wrong reasons!).

| The stirring Churchillian speech by Grix in the HDMail today is utter Rock Bottom !!!
That has to be the worst ever interview I’ve ever read from a Head Coach
If this was a FTSE 500 company he’d be fired immediately !!!
It’s like a pub team cosch
Almost David Brentish
What a muppet
Why why why is he still at the Club ?
The kit man could have given a better warm up
Grix was a alphabet spaghetti pile of stinking shoite

| We haven't done a proper review," Grix said: "Other than the opening few sets where we defended pretty well, there's not much positive to take out of that game to move forward. Sometimes, the experience is enough. It was a low point; we've had a few this year, and that one felt really low. Unfortunately, it was a hard one for everyone to swallow. We're not in the best spot; it's fair to say, both mentally and physically, as a group, the bodies we have out and all those bits, it’s all rolled into a tough position."
Grix added: "I try to avoid excuses, but there is so much context within what has happened this season; from where we started round one, the team looks totally different. There's been a lot that has gone on between that time that has been challenging.
"It's been a tough old year, but with two games left, I can only assure you that we'll do our very best to make sure that we train at the right level and try to get our performance back up to where they need to be."
Tony Bannon - ex Arctic Ranger coach
