Remember that McGuire gushed that any club would be lucky to have Smith and how much he owed him on and off the field in the days after his leaving Rovers. The pivot of narrative to sour taste/never liked him anyway now he's headed West is as contrived as it is predictable.

Pearson can show his emotions, but he backs his coaches. Sometimes too loyal.

I think he’ll be happy for TS to get a grip of the rugby side of the club.

You've got a good coach there fellas. He'll always get a good welcome at Wire.

The only coach he got rid of fairly quickly was Parkinson back in his City days. Think he only lasted a couple of months.

Besides that I gave him my word, Although he did give me permission to post what he told me, but he also told me not to mention him by name under any circumstances as he's still in and around the club and also knows Tony pretty well too.
We've exchanged numbers and are having a get together in the near future too, so I don't want him chinning me

Really pleased with the signing of Tony Smith and we have finally broken the cycle of appointing assistants .
