Weve still got 5 in the Combined Nations squad!'"
It’s a flaming joke how they expect Huddersfield to play minus 5 first team players with the injuries they have and us to play with 3 missing from an already severely depleted squad with injuries. The fact we’ve had to bring in Logan speaks volumes as to the lack of fit players. So we go into the game with 2 recognised experienced forwards in Sao & Fash with young Brown as the remaining option on the bench. No recognised centres that are fit other than the loan of Logan.
Reckon Logan will come straight in with Wynne going to FB leaving Swift, Logan, Fonua & Faraimo as the back line. Possibly see Fonua moving to a forward in the game with Mitch slotting in on the wing and Faraimo centre.
If Cator and/or Bowden aren’t back then we really are struggling down the middle as no one else at all. Unless Lane goes as make shift forward and Logan fills in at SR with Ferreira at centre.
It’s just a farce and a great advert for the SL fixture with two severely depleted squads.

I totally forgot about him!
Founa at centre and then presumably Logan on the bench.

| Absolute joke all round.- RFL just keep finding ways to embarrass the game, utterly utterly meaningless game, World Cup team will bear no resemblance to the starting 13, can't see it getting much attendance or TV viewers either.
So we have all made plans, got our tickets & still have no real idea if the game is on or not ??
TBF will be a brucie bonus if we can pick up 2 points on the cheap, BUT if we come unstuck or pick up more injuries then pretty damn disastrous !!

| In all fairness to the RFL they had this England game pencilled in before SL put its fixture list together. SL still saw fit to put a full round of fixtures in this week.
If there is blame then there is plenty of blame to go around, the impacted clubs included.

| I'm a but out the loop when it comes to academy players but Alex Gibson has started most of the academy games at prop. Could he be worth a shout?
Nick Staveley is a LF and came well regarded (he looks a monster if his picture on the club site is anything to go by)
Bowden is out and Cator is 50/50. We need to find someone from somewhere...

Burrell seems well regarded by the club and has been training with the first team.
Leeds have just postponed their game because of call ups. I can't see how Huddersfield can field a teaam

I'm with you 100% on this. We all know the RFL are prone to making stupid decisions, but this wasn't one of them. They arranged the game early and one would have thought the chairmen would have arranged to leave this weekend free, but they chose not to.

To be fair I don’t blame the clubs in trying to maintain a league schedule, I’m all for international rugby and the concept of the mixed nations to give a test to England. However after the financial impact the pandemic has had on all clubs and the game as a whole it would have been sensible to postpone the international fixture. Without the clubs the game is screwed so they must take priority.
I would question the importance of the fixture too with the NRL contingent missing and other players as already mentioned re Roby. If it where a month or two before the World Cup then I’d have more sympathy for England/RFL but there’s 4 months to go yet.
I also question when Huddersfield have lost 5 and are severely depleted why St’s overseas contingent are notable absentees particularly when their game is no longer on.
When you lose players to the England side that's one thing but to also lose players to a mixed national side too is a very big ask at a time when the clubs are struggling.

| How is there only one player(Hastings) playing for Combined Nations from the top 4 amazing that, the teams chairman who run the game get their say again. I can to some see why Wigan(2 in England Squad), Wire(5) and Catalans(2) who have games get away with it but what about Saints(4) no game no players where's Grace, Naiqama. Matu'utia and Passi.
Anyways my team would be
Swift
B
Scott
Fonau
Logan
Grub
Sneyd
Sao
Mint
Brown
Lane
Ma'u
Cator
Subs
JJ
Macca
Fash
Wynne

For me I'd leave Swift on the wing where he is playing very well for us this season and put Wynne in at FB.
Wynne
Faraimo
Logan
Fonua
Swift
Reynolds
Sneyd
Sao
Houghton
Fash
Lane
Ma'u
Cator

I've only got Scott on the bench due to him not necessarily being fully fit and him coming back from his shoulder injury.
