So lets get this right....Jones signed for us, started playing and was bang average, was injured then decided he didnt want to be here. Then Covid happened and lots of players caught it but whilst all but one were back in two weeks there was one unfortunately was suffering from long covid and surprise surprise its the player who doesnt want to be here. Meanwhile the team starts improving, the back row is leading the way with Savelio, Ma'u, Cator and Lane instrumental in the improvement. Jones long Covid continues..............

Then suddenly at the end of the season Jones miraculously gets better just at the strange time when he wants other clubs to sign him and get him out of the hell hole...............hmmmmmm..............and loads are screaming for him to play.................??????????????

Yes, but he has a valid point, Jones has been nothing but average in the few games he played for Hull, he wasn't even all that at Salford!

If by "loads" you mean "a couple of posters on here", and by "screaming for him to play" you mean "think it reasonable that an international and Dream Team player now fit should be considered as an option in our biggest game of the season ", then yes you're right. Re Jones for me he just doesn’t make the 17. Had he been in great form and out for a short period then it would be different. Sadly he has not been in any real form prior to lockdown and has been out far too long.
The fact that the players that have been playing since the restart have shown great form again means there would be no place in the 17 for Jones.
You always want your best players in the 17 and he came to us as a player on form and one of the best in SL. Unfortunately for whatever reason he has not shown any of that for us since he joined. That’s without adding in the negative aspect of him saying he was unhappy at the club.

Great post Chris, you could maybe argue a bench spot over Fash, but then Lane was in good form, but the fact that he allegedly won't be here next year, I see no place in the 17 for me.

Ratu on the other hand is different, he has finished his contract and has earnt his money and is in good form.

Short term playing Jones might work, but thinking more long term I wouldn't have him in the 17 this week, if he is, then let’s hope he proves his worth, I still hope he stays next year (I think he should out of loyalty to the club), but don't think he will.

Yes for me Lane would be ahead of Jones and on merit as he got an opportunity and took it and under Last has looked much improved so for me is ahead of Jones.

Yes Ratu is leaving but he has earned his place on his performances.
Jones possibly leaving or expressing he wants to leave for me isn’t a reason and had he been playing and putting in performances he’d play. For whatever reason he didn’t perform that well when he was playing and he’s been out a very long time so just doesn’t make the 17 as others a rightly ahead of him.

Balanced posts on Josh Jones, for me, thinking as an opposition coach, who would they rather see in our team, Josh Jones, or Brad Fash, it’s knock out footie, biggest best players available for me, and I’d have him in the centre running at Gelling or King, if he starts to flag due to lack of match fitness, then bring Mahe off the bench.

I don't how people can judge Jones' play for us on the basis of 7 games! He was an England player and dream team member last year. He brings size and offload ability, *IF* he is fit he should play.
