| Quote: number 6 "Hmm yet on your other forum, not on rlfans, the vast majority of your fans think you will win, one even claims we haven't come up against a team with a better defence, no offence but your opening two fixtures against 2 teams tipped to struggle is hardly a case to use, could also be said the oppositions attack was so poor too
Home advantage should just swing it in fcs favour but I expect it to be close'"
That would be my post on Casforum. I wasn't really thinking about our previous two games, more the previous two seasons, during which time our defence has been significantly better than Salford's and Catalans'. That might change this year, but I doubt many would argue otherwise at the moment.
I think the game could go one of three ways. Both teams are capable of getting away to a dominant start, and if either team gets momentum and turns it into points we could see the game finished as a contest by half time. Alternatively, it could be very close at half time. If this is the case I think Cas will edge it with the experience of winning tight games in the second half regularly last year ( though we did mess up at KR).
It's an interesting test for Crooks. Don't be surprised if we play Webster on Pritchard's side to add some size and strength there rather than Crooks. Our pack is certainly not going to roll over ( I hope) and Mike McMeekan has been massive in defence for us so far this year, he'll certainly go after Pritchard and Ellis with some aggression.

| Well as a Cas fan I think and hope it will be a cracking game, I can see that you and Warrington are looking good for this year and think we will all be pushing the top four. As for Thursdays game you've hit the ground running and I think you will probably have too much for us , we had a bad start , a draw at KR and the loss of Shenton for the season , we were good in spells against Wakefield but we still have work to do ! As for you lot getting too big for your boots ! If we had that start to the season I would expect you lot to be shaking in them boots LOL.

I doubt they are. However, if they take your dismissive attitude they are in for a serious shock. McMeekan has been outstanding in the tackle towards the back end of last year and even better at the start of this season (albeit we are only two games in).
He is still very young, if he continues to develop he is going to be a top drawer forward and you underestimate him at your peril.

Why would the ultra professional Pritchard and Ellis take my dismissive attitude? You were the one who said he would 'go after' them?..As for Webster as a defensive rock...Jesus!

Maybe my post was unclear. I don't think he will specifically target them but he certainly won't shirk the physicality they have to their game.
Re Webster, you either watch a different game to me or have some kind of biased view of him as an ex KR player. I've yet to see anyone score easy tries down Webster's channel nor dominate him in the tackle.
I'm looking forward to the game. We miss very few tackles but your offensive play looks very good his year so it will be an interesting contest.
Out of interest, how has Sneyd gone so far this year? Always thought he could be a very good half but didn't have the team to work with last year.

I like McMeeken, looks a talent and I expect him to delevop into a really good player under Powell.
Looking forward to this game. Two exciting teams on the evidence of what we have done this year and what Cas have done for the last couple of seasons. I am confident we will win, I just think we have a bit too much fire power for Cas who do have a couple of players I think we can get at. The bench is the key for me, to be able to bring on Frank, Ellis and Bowden against a team just starting to tire is a real key threat.

Interestingly, Powell often uses a similar tactic of bringing on all our four substitutes at once around the 20 minute mark. Wouldn't surprise me if we went with Moors, Millington, Lynch and Milner on the bench tomorrow and introducing them as a quartet after putting in the hard graft for the first twenty.
I would definitely be targeting Crooks as our weak link, as yet he hasn't looked too bad but hasn't really had much to do defensively.

I've been really pleased with Sneyd so far. It's obviously easier to play well as a 7 when the pack is dominating, but he looks full of ideas, his passing has been crisp and accurate and he just generally seems to have a bit of spring in his step that we rarely saw last year. I also thought that when Pryce was sin binned last week he really stood up and took control of what could have been an awkward period for us. His job is also made easier by having centres who can make things happen without it needing to be put on a plate for them. I think Westerman leaving could end up being the best bit of business we did this off season. I did like Westy, but with him not playing first receiver looks to have given us a more varied, slightly off the cuff attack, and that suits Sneyd down to the ground.

Yeh I agree , looks a very good player, I like him. I'm feeling a little nervous for this one, really looking forward to it, think it will be won in the last 10, cas by 2, 30-28.

Pleased he is doing well, I really rated him in 2014 until he knew he was leaving Cas, when he seemed to lose a bit of focus.
Shame about the beard, though.

| cas have played the 2 worst teams in SL so hard to gauage how well they're doing really. We've comfortably beaten les cats in france (no small achievement going by recent years) and a much improved salford side who have won 2 games since. I'm sure cas are capable of winning this game but it would take a big dip in performance from Hull to do it. Play like we did in france and we won't lose this one

| If we stay focused and don't give them.easy metres through soft penalties then on the back of what we've seen so far we could win by 2 or 3 scores.
Lapse for even a short time and Cas can get the ball about the park just as well as we have shown and punish us heavily.
I think us by 10 in a high scoring game, at this moment in time a win by even just 1 point would be taken by all Hull fans.

| A win of any description is what you need against the teams who will probably be challenging us for a top 4 finish. If we play as we have so far then I think we will edge it. Anything less than 100% and Cas could easily turn us over.
