| Can't fault the response to Monday's limp display in terms of effort, but the same old problems keep cropping up again and again.
the attack is absolutely clueless, we had repeated sets on Huddersfield's line at one point but still couldn't come up with any moves apart from the inept 'short-drop off pass' move we do week after week.
the pack is too small but without bringing in new forwards we can't do much about this, we barely break any tackles.
McDonnell is looking error prone, I couldn't believe how he took the ball over his own dead ball line in the first half under no pressure!
on the positive side I thought Ellis and Miller has their best games so far, but we are still massively behind where we need to be. I can actually see us missing the playoffs now.

Did he not have a foot in touch and then swiped the moving ball over?

| The McDonnell over the dead ball line scenario, although he could have ran the ball back. But from what I could see from the south stand, was an error by the official.
He doesn't get enough space or involvement when we 'slowly' spread the ball out wide. All teams have to do is keep their line and move wide and it stops our attack.

| Aa far as I'm aware, the rule is that if a defender catches the ball on the full with his foot over the line it's the defending side's ball, but you can no longer put your foot over the line and knock a bouncing ball dead (and expect to retain possession).

I thought he caught it in play, then stepped back and took it out of play...but I didn't have the best view.

| the ball has stopped moving, if the ball is moving, either in the air or ground than you can use the line to mark it dead and get the tap.
as it was no longer moving (in the officials opinion) he made it dead in goal when he picked it up with his foot over the line, which made it a drop out

| Much better performance today. Disappointed with the result, thought we deserved more. Had an overall better attitude in defence and attack, despite some silly mistakes. Rub of the green did not go our today, but definitely a step in the right direction.

He'll give Gentle to the end of the season, at least. The only way I can see his position being threatened before then is if we lose the next three.

Better attitude in attack, but some of our execution was still laughably poor. The defensive effort was quite pleasing. If only we could defend kicks.

| If Pearson does get the sack, which I don't think he should do. Who is he going to replace him with? Another Aussie assistant? We've arguably the best Aussie assistant there is. Unless we can tempt Tony Smith with a different challenge then I can't see who'll he'll bring in.
Personally I don't think this slump is all down to PG whatsoever. We have too many players who are clueless in attack or don't want to be at this club anymore.

Execution was poor on a few occasions, was it our 8th half back pairing of the season? Overall attitude was a lot better, we matched the team 2nd in the league for most of the game, which is a million miles away from last two games.
Not happy with the loss, but happier with the attitude. Lynch, Galea, Miller, Ellis, Whiting, Heremaia and Ogre had good games. And, despite not defending the high kick, Briscoe had a better run out.

I don't think he's as safe as that, I think he has to win next weekend or his days are numbered, the fans will turn on him, crowds will continue to fall and Pearson will act before next seasons passes go on sale.

Daniel Anderson, Brian McClennan are both winners who haven't got jobs. Hell I'd even give Justin Morgan a go, as least he shows some passion!
