| Quote: Hull-Neutral "I find it incredulous how anyone could think this whole sorry saga is somehow in Hull FC's best interests?
You saw how problematic it was for the club when Plummer/Hethrington/Rule had no sort of relationship with previous SMC incumbents Pearson himself and Duffen. This is potentially far worse...we are talking about open-warfare here with the Allams!
I just get the feeling things haven’t gone anywhere near as smoothly as Pearson hoped with FC.
From the outside, he saw an underperforming club teetering on the cusp of profitability despite disconnected owners, a mocked coach and an unfavourable rental agreement.
To get all that latent support flocking back, Pearson was under the impression all he had to do was replace that ghastly Mr Agar with someone more palatable, throw in some money for infrastructure investment, improve communications with fans and switch the fixtures back to family-friendly Sundays.
Well he has done all that and seen the team quickly become competitive into the bargain, yet crowds stubbornly refuse to rise. In fact they have actually dipped.
This most definitely wasn't in the script, and you can just sense this from the pleading for the fans to return before each big game!
Nor can his business-plan have included a failure to procure a more favourable rental agreement from his Egyptian friends. Much, much worse than that, those friends have now potentially become very dangerous enemies!
Furthermore, Pearson has complained that he was 'misled' on the finances of the club, and he certainly wasn’t expecting such heavy fallout from the 'Gleeson affair' (legal action still possible), while, by all accounts, he did himself few favours in the eyes of Nigel Wood and a number of SL owners with his overly-vociferous opposition to the Stobart deal.
On top of that, the unexpected loss of Luke Briscoe and the ensuing tribunal verdict has already seen him become publicly disillusioned with the Rugby League hierarchy and he has made another dangerous enemy with one of the game’s top powerbrokers, Gary Hethrington!
If he was a genuine supporter of the club (or even the sport), or a benefactor of any description, you might think he would tough this out no problem. But I just wonder if this transient, profit-driven 'football man' really is in this for the long haul?
These are not criticisms, just observations.

Our crowds have been a disappointment, however we are in a economic downturn and crowds at both City and Rovers has also been disappointing this year (when compared to what all 3 clubs were getting 2-3 years ago)
We have also been unfortunate that games against Warrington and Wigan, usually two of the bigger attended fixtures of the year have had snow and injuries affect the gate respectively.
I do however think he/the board made a bit of an error promising 'reduced' season ticket prices, which ultimately were nothing to shout about...but ultimately it will take a year or even two years of consistent, quality performances to get the fans back through the gates.

| Hull Neutral, (If you are Neutral)
Dont agree, crowds may not have risen YET but there is an increase opitimism from the Hull supporters which will eventually filter to the fans that are not coming yet.
The team look like they are heading the right way, we now have a great youth setup, already seen youth given a chance which helps any young player improve.
Adam Pearson while I am sure would have loved bigger crowds immediately isn't stupid and know they will come and is in for the long term , as for Gary Hetherington who cares what he thinks, he has shown his moneyt grabbing wife for what she was, all the lies that we have been told about running at full cap and investing ect ect.
I for one think its great that we get told the truth, whether its bad or not.
It was never going to be an overnight sucess and most of us knew that, as for Allams well I doubt he will be around for that much longer even if he is saying he is now, far too much dummy spitting when he cannot get his own way. The Hull City supporters know that Adam Pearson has only even done his very best for Hull City and they trusted him, if Adam has left Hull City then he really must have not liked what he was seeing and obviously said so.
Keep up the good work Adam, we believe.

Thanks for a sensible response, and I take your points on board.
I wasn't criticising Pearson and totally accept that the dip in crowds is partly down to socio economic reasons beyond his control.
But it would still take the combined efforts of Alistair Campbell and Max Clifford to 'spin' the Allam fallout as some kind of positive or to even suggest that Pearson's takeover is going to script!
