| Quote: Kosh "In a sliding tackle the tackle is not counted as complete until the slide stops. He stretched out before the slide stops.'"
He wasn't sliding. He was rolling. His momentum took him into a roll. His momentum did not stretch his arm over the line. That is the second movement. If he had fallen over the line, fair play. But he didn't.
It's exactly the same as if he'd have landed on his front and was bouncing forward. He he bounces over the line, fair play. But if he outstretches his arm after the bounce (even if he's bouncing forward) it's a second movement.

He was sliding on my telly.
And I've seen a try given in identical circumstances to your second example.

He rolled on mine.
And if you've seen them given in the second example, they were also wrong. I've seen them chalked off in both instances. So I guess it begs the question of where's the consistency?

| For the record, someone found this description on the VT:
"For the novice rugby league audience, the double movement rule is enforced when an attacking player is tackled short of the tryline, than advances the ball over the tryline to claim a try. If the arm carrying the ball touches the ground, and is than advanced forward again, than the referee must rule it no try, and award a penalty to the defending side.
A player is allowed to be tackled short of the tryline, and slide with the ball over the line, but if the attacking players arm is raised off the ground and advanced forward, than it is deemed a double movement. "
Can't be doubted that Tomkins raises his arm off the ground and advances it after it was grounded (that second movement I've been talking about). Therefore double movement.

| I've not bothered watching it back but if tomkins ball carrying arm touched the floor then I fail to see how he can pick it up and put the ball down on the other side of his body. Say, for instance, it was 5m before the line and tomkins arm had touched the floor and he'd then passed to a team mate who had scored, it would have been deemed a pass after the tackle had been completed.
Typical of the inconsistencies we continually see

| The only thing that stopped us winning last night was the inability to score. We never seemed to have trouble stopping their attacks, 3 of their tries were handed to them, 1 was a sensational individual effort and the other was from a kick.
All we needed was some decent attacking moves down their end, instead of trying to rely on Manu, Yeaman and Briscoe individual efforts.

Totally agree.
(I'm not saying we lost because of the referee, I just hate poor decisions, especially by the VR!)
Look at our attack. It's either a pop from the DH, face ball, or pop and drop. That literally is the extent of our play. Occasionally we'll move the ball wide to Manu/Yeaman/Briscoe to do something [iindividual[/i (and I stress that word). if Manu bursts his way through, it's not good team work. It's exploiting one man's good work.
Look at Wigan, who by any stretch weren't that good on Friday. They Often do two wedge balls straight off the ruck, so that's two dummy runners going through (who not only lock up some defenders, but we noticed actually obstruct them sliding, but that's another story!), then may pass a third one on the end. That's why they can pass it out wide so quickly, and that's why they always seem to find overlaps. There moves demand defenders make decisions all the time (often the wrong ones) whereas ours don't. It's not that our players can't physically do it, they just don't know how. They aren't getting taught good tactics, and until they are we will always be this boring (but strong) team with a few decent individuals in.

| How many times on Friday did someone take the ball to the line and turn to offload only to find no one in support?

We don't have players running as a "push", so there's no point in turning to offload on the break. We might as well just find the floor for a quick PTB.

I remember us in a game passing off the floor (think it was Judas) It was a cracking pass as he went down but his elbow scraped the floor whilst someone had a finger nail on him
That try was ruled out

Briscoe and Horne both made consecutive breaks and not one player was in support.

Classic. I’m seriously considering using that as my sig. Best laugh of the day, you’ve really brightened up my Monday afternoon.
