6. Horne/Nicklas
7. Long/Ellis
9. Houghton/Heremaia
Where does Obst fit in?
Maybe Long isn't staying? Widnes?'"
Long to the coaching staff?

Maybe Scott Taylor to come then and another prop???'"

Obst showed at the weekend why he isn't good enough to be first choice 7 for a team looking to break into the top 4. He's enthusiastic, has a good running game but his kicking is poor and if we go with Horne/Obst as our first choice halves next year we'll struggle to make the top 6 IMO.

I'd take Long over Obst but in fairness Obst has had some good games too, don't just judge the last one against Hudds.
Log is not under contract and Obst is, I think Obst will stay.

| We never really saw the best of Azzer at Leigh as we played him at scrum half, but he seems to have come on leaps and bounds in the NRL and looks like a top signing judging by his performances for the Warriors this year.

Can't see it mate.
I think he still wants to play, and if its a choice between coaching here and playing at somewhere like Widnes, it's no contest. He won't get another deal as good as the one he's got now from us, he may from Widnes.

| Pretty sure Heremai was playing as a makeshift scrum-half when Leigh upset Rovers in the 2006 Northern Rail Cup Final, but I don't think he pulled up any trees at Halifax.
Worryingly, he did the "dirty" on Fax and reneged on a contract to return home early to the New Zeland feeder leagues because he was allegedly "homesick".
I know it was a surprise when he resurfaced at the Warriors but, from the few games I saw last season, he certainly 'did a job' in their problem position of hooker.
Will be pushing 30 when he arrives and wouldn't have been looked at twice by a side with designs on the top four under normal circumstances. But is this a sign of lesser-quality Aussies returning to the fold (in view of higher salaries in the NRL)?
I just hope Heremaia's head is ok after the tragic loss of still-born twins recently?
