| I know what you mean though Chris, I am a negative poster however I try my best not to engage in name calling etc because it just shows that you have run out of constructive things to say.
Certain users are always resorting to personal remarks when debating an issue rather than debating the actual issue.

Nah I'm not having that, there's so many other words he could have used to make the same point: 'inundated', 'dominating', 'too many' etc etc. But he chose the one that made it look like people of my view were like a plague of locusts
It is funny and this is very very daft but the hypocrisy is definitely there.

| As I said somewhere earlier, we all support the same team, and want the same things.
Can't we just all get along?
(And we're supposed to hate Rovers, not each other)

Ok mate if you don't think describing people of a certain point of view as an 'infestation' has pretty offensive connotations then I'm not going to try and convince you.'"
You seem to have mis-read my post......I used the word infest as in - taking over the forum.
Anyway I stand by my comment and it was brought about after you had suggested that Staffs should not post.
There is an infestation of doom and gloomers on here and whilst some are making vaild points the hysteria with it is quite frankly ridiculous.

| Quote: PAUL M "Spot on Mrs B.
I agree with a lot of what people are complaining about but think the hysterical overreaction has gone way over the top. So yes just trying to add balance.'"
I'm a fairly rational person, and make a good living out of a fact/evidence/numbers based profession, but following a club's not about rational thought, it's irrational devotion to a cause that chooses you, and the current frenzy on here IMO just represents people choosing how to express an intense frustration about something they love to pieces but have absolutely no control over. It's about power and the reality is we have none, but demonstrations/expressions of discontent in the media and on here are the only ways we feel we can find a voice and exercise a tiny amount of pressure. There's nothing wrong with that per se, and I'm not judging as I'm agitating for change too, having reached the end of my rope, but the site right now is a great illustration of the power of the internet IMO. Before the internet existed, none of us would have put the amount of time and effort into discussing the minutiae of Hull FC that we now do, simply because the platform to do so didn't exist. The downside is that whilst it's a good thing to share opinions, miserable and hysterical tery is our stock in trade at the moment, and I include myself in that. Equally, look back at 2005. I remember coming back from Cardiff and there being more than 3 pages of unread threads of jubilant celebration, celebrating everything from Danny Brough's boots to Carvell's forward roll after Blacklock's backflip, to Leeds fans mooning out of a minibus on the M1 on the way home. Emotive and unbalanced quite clearly, but it works both ways. Good work on trying to stabilise the unhinged amongst us, like me.

| Its just further signs of how bad things have got that fans are now arguing amongst themselves, this cant go on for much longer IMO. I honestly think that if we lose on Friday and get our annual hammering at Wigan the week after things will come to a head.

Hang on a minute Paul,I am feeling dejected about the whole situation at the moment, and would love for something positive to happen to brighten things up.It probably will,Yin and Yang and all that.
I think its a bit unfair to say people who are brassed off infest the forum.

I think you sum up the majority of RL fans not just FC ones. Great post

The point was that the board has been overtaken by negativity and you struggle to find a thread where we can just talk about rugby nevermind find any kind of positivity.

Which 'context' did you mean then?
infestation - The presence of a large number of pest organisms in an area or field, on the surface of a host or anything that might contact a host, or in the soil
en.wiktionary.org/wiki/infestation
infestation - For persons or animals, the lodgment, development and reproduction of arthropods on the surface of the body or in the clothing. Infested articles or premises are those that harbor or give shelter to animal forms, especially arthropods and rodents.
www.doh.wa.gov/notify/other/glossary.htm
infest - To be occupied by pests such as "infested food".
www.pestworldforkids.org/glossary.html
# infest - invade in great numbers; "the roaches infested our kitchen"
# infest - invade: occupy in large numbers or live on a host; "the Kudzu plant infests much of the South and is spreading to the North"
# infest - live on or in a host, as of parasites
wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
infest - Of microorganisms and viruses: To contaminate the surface of a plant without establishing an interactive relationship with it; to be present in high numbers in a plant's environment (soil, water, etc.). (3)
www.plantpath.cornell.edu/glossary/Defs_I.htm
Why don't you just say you're sorry?
