Decent is a figure of speach, I shall make sure that i quote correctly when I see you are on sir!!
In my opinion RA has produced a side this year that has a home stadium fortress, sat in 4th , with more to come ..
what would you describe him as Seb???

| Part of mrs happy he got another two years.
If he'd have only signed one year then we'd be in that very odd situation of trying to sign players, and well need major recruitment for 2012, without having a coach in place.

| Quote: Robbo4 "To be fair to Agar he has more than earned his contract extension this season. I was completely against the decision being made so early in the season but if the decision was being made about now (as it should have been) I dont think most people would argue against a contract extension based on the current league standings.
He has done enough for me to get another crack at it next season and with further recruitment I would hope we progress again. One thing to consider though is that next season it wont be so easy to improve on this seasons showing so Agar will have his work cut out.'"
Jeez Robbo we agree twice in one day
well said, and I am sure that next year we will be a better team for lessons we learn this year with new faces included

again you see the big picture sheldon, no player making a shout on where his future lies will do so if the guiding hand is only there part time!

Good post. I didn't agree either with the early extension but it has now been earned. We have come a long way from the despair of the last two seasons due in the main to having better players in the first team squad. This season has been the best we could have hoped for bearing in mind where we were coming from. Hope there is some further team strengthening as we clearly still need it in certain areas, notably in the backs now. The decision to strengthen the forwards first within the confines of the cap and existing contracts has been totally vindicated.

| Whilst we were busy finishing bottom in 2009 , Wire nipped in and grabbed Tony Smith as they were under achieving at Wire. Imagine if we'd signed him , another WORLD CLASS COACH , not 'decent' , which is still debatable.

Great post, liek you have said should have been a one year deal and a few weeks later than it was, wouldnt have been half the moaning on here (including me).
Also as you have said his recruitment next year is going to be hard as he wont have the salary cap or quota spots to use, this along with next season will be Agars biggest test as a coach, think everyone (or nearly) can see each week he is improving as a coach, hopfully this will continue.

I remember you picking him out as a WORLD CLASS COACH when he was finishing bottom of the league at Huddersfield in 2001 and getting relegated followed by 14 straight defeats in the Championship. Good coach he is I'm sure with the right players to work with, as he has gone on to prove.

With respect, when have you ever indulged us with inside info. I have read your comments about player re-signings (always after a "semi" credible poster has posted the info), all the other detail you have posted is about players we have allegedly spoken to, which conveniently can't be proved, or more to the point, disproved!

With the same respect in return, believe what you will i have no need to vindicate myself ! however I have noted the odd snippet on here WELL before it happened and WELL before the usual suspects even knew but as you say that is down to when you read and when you post i guess either way i couldnt give a monkeys to be honest
However like 99% on here I certainly do not pick my info from other posters ... however what credible info have you offered recently ???

I don't think it's debatable that Agar is 'decent'. I think he's done enough to be considered at least that. There's no doubt at all that he's improved over the past year or so, and that he's played a substantial part in us achieving our current league position - if only in that he identified areas of weakness in the squad and strengthened them accordingly.
The question is, can he continue that improvement over a short enough timescale to bring us the success we crave? Can he improve the standard of rugby on show from some of the drab offerings we've had to endure this season? Can he bring us the consistency we lack and that we must achieve in order to win anything? We must go forward as a club over the next two seasons to a point where we're serious title challengers, in my opinion. If we don't, then we have to invest a lot of money (within reason) on a proven, top class coach.
