Also, we've had an extra week off to some other sides. I was surprised to hear that we was even training on the Monday of the first week. I thought we'd have let all of the players have 4 or 5 days off in week 1 and then get back to it in week 2.'"
They need all the training they can get, not like they over exerted themselves against Quins.

Theyre all carrying knocks and look knackered. I'd have said a rest was exactly what they needed. Over training isnt going to help.

Credit the players for putting their hands up to play and I am certainly not questionning their commitment but I really hope no serious damage is done by playing on injured.quote]
There will be a minimum of six players at the weekend with injections to keep them going, all have been asked if they feel "good to go" and all said yes.. however there are three that will again suffer because of it and I take my hat off to them ( one of them has rib cage damage that looks like a mugging victim)
The bigger issue is with a smaller squad such as ours is that if these players all sat back and said we need time to recouperate who would replace them as we simply dont have that depth, then the merry go round starts as to why we lost again and its all agars fault AGAIN!!
if the fella had a fit squad we would not be having this thread, but he does not ..

| I can see your point but letting them have 4 or 5 days off after a performance like that sends out all the wrong signals to me. Just because they are training does not mean it has to be strenuous training they could be doing homework on the coming opposition or working on gameplans etc. That for me is just as important as the physical training, also why do our players look knackered when other teams players don't. Could it be down to poor training?

The fact is we are likely to lose this game anyway so why not give the younger players a run out. It would give those carrying knocks more time to recover and it would mean the supporters get to see a side playing with passion and as Agar wont have had the chance to coach their ability out of them they may even put on a decent show.

| Unfortunately wether some believe it or not we dont have that many youngsters you would put into the arena just now, yes good kids but just kids and it would be unsafe, remember the likes of Elima will not care whos head he knocks off or what age they are, simple safety for young, inexperienced kids... the last thing the three or four real young stars we have need right now is a rough house mauling that would kill the confidence they have..
next year maybe so but not yet for most

Agar did have a relatively fit squad against Crusaders and Salford and they were still poor in every way.

Depends what you think the reason for the poor performance was. I think its a combination of poor coaching, no game plan, lack of effort and injuries.
Training for me will not impact any of the points above unless the coach changes and the training adds value.
If Agar seriously does blame the injuries then why would he feel the need to get any kind of message out to the players. The rest would be the strongest message to say that he's supporting them to get better.

Why not replace Craig with one of these to save on cap.

That's becuase the conveyor belt of talent coming through came to a juddering halt when mcrae left and now we're lucky if we get 1 average player a year coming through

Why not? The coaching team which has included Agar for more than his tenure as head coach are tasked to find and develop young players. Indeed it's Agar's "speciality" according to some. Other clubs of our supposed stature bring kids through and use them. We use Leeds'. When this happens next year and we still have no kids coming through that we dare risk it will be the same story again , "next year we'll be ok". Nothings changing though , there are no signs that anything will improve. The coaching staff have failed to produce so why do you think it will be different in the future?

Well if any of these players further aggravate existing injuries, then that would be all Agar's fault, quite right. Ridiculous and unnecessary risk-taking with players' health IMO.
