As much as I like Sam as a player, he just cannot stay for next year. With Dowes, Cusack, Lauaki and O'Meley here (and King, although I would rather have Moa) we have 4 props who I feel are better and I wouldnt want to give a quota/non-fed spot to a back up player

Dowes nor Cusack have played as well this season as Sam has in the last few games.

What if one or two gets injured though , think it will be a massive mistake letting Sam go , anyone actually know or heard if fc are likely to keep him ?

Cusack hasnt really had the chance, although I think he adds more than Moa. Dowes hasnt been good but hes a completely different player to Moa (as is Cusack too)

Don't think King will be here next season.

When the amount of quota/non-fed players you can have in your team is 6, then you cant afford to give a place on one to a back up player. Injuries may or may not hit, but you can have 6 or 7 props on the books in case they do. A real problem we have had is going for quantity instead of quality. This opposed to Saints who go for quality and bring in the youngsters if injuries hit. And it works very well for them. Leeds are similar to that too

As I've said before, I'd only keep Moa if we cant get another big name "quota" player. Unfortunately we have made our choices with regards to overseas players and no amount of complaining will change that.

I'd have Sam in place of Dowes in that quartet. Gives us something different. I'd like to see King and Thacks go with maybe Maloney or Radders been used as cover at prop with Dowes as 5th choice.
