Maybe, but he is a lot fitter, still has pace, and makes line breaks. His kicking is also top class.
Talk is the club made enquiries about Brough a couple of months ago but it fell through for reasons unknown so we would have made room on the cap no doubt.
The club know we need an established 6 and i expect that to happen.

He oils have stayed at fart town & got a regular gig, I like the thought of the pressure for places at our camp.'"
The reason i dont get it is we have a young versatile player in Naughton who is sitting on the sidelines most of the season.
I agree about pressure for places but we also have young lads in the under23s who should be stepping up next season

That's like saying don't sign fonua we have Logan, you sign as much quality youth or experience inside the cap.

Not really the same comparison. Fonua has a cemented place in the starting 13, Logan is waiting in the background for a chance.
Naughton is not a regular, Conner adds to competition for places. It's increasing the squad were we don't really need it.
For the record I am an admirer of Conner, but would we be best served with an experienced half?

| Connor is a totally different player to Naughton.
Connor looks a natural ball player to me. Got a good variety of passing and a decent kicking game. I thinks it's a really astute signing.
Naughton will get his chance next year anyway with Michaels leaving.

It is the same as we had outside backs in the camp that could play, lugs spends any funds wisely he's like that!

So do you rate Naughton or not then?

| Think the million pound game will most likely include Rovers & Salford as think Huddersfield will just have enough to stay in front of those 2.
With the reported injury concerns of Rovers then they could be ready in the poop with or without Peacock donning his boots.

Did you watch the game yesterday? leigh were 42-10 up at half time. hudds are terrible and have to play 2 of the 3 SL sides still. rovers have a couple of easy fixtures then only have to beat hudds at home to be safe.

Rovers and Salford will both beat London and Featherstone. I can't see Huddersfield beating Leeds so that means going into the final round Rovers will be on 8pts, Salford and Huddersfield both on six. Salford should beat Batley so Huddersfield will need to win at the Lightstream.
Potentially all three could end up on eight points but I think Rovers will beat Huddersfield.

Yes I did but it's only my opinion. As bad as Huddersfield were last night they still have quality in there. It will be very close and will go down to the last game with rovers for them & may go down to pts difference between the 3.

| It is a real eye opener to clubs in SL finishing in the bottom 4, you've got to feel for the fans as the club going down could stay in the championship for a very long time, maybe even put the club out of business, Only a decent financially backed club can gain automatic promotion, Leigh been living proof, the others really stand no chance.

They have some quality players but also lots of ordinary ones who have underperformed all year. They deservedly finished bottom of the SL and have lost all but one away game against SL opposition all year. They now have to beat leeds at home and rovers away to not be in the £1m hame which I think is unlikely, lose both (pretty likely) and they'll be away in the £1m game. Through the season and the qualifiers they've been the worst team in SL which I think is unlikely to change in the next 3 weeks

Couldn't agree more. Ken Gravytrain must be spitting feathers. What's the reason for their rapid decline? Can't blame flooded traing pitch or high profile players retiring. A whino wag has blamed their decline on the fact that the ground capacity will be reduced to 13,000 next season during alterations to the stands and Gary Hetherington's plan is to a few fans off!!!! Even the guy's dad said he was an idiot.

Don't disagree that they've been the worst over the course of the season but out the 3 remaining SL sides I still think they have the better squad. So the situation they are now in will either make or break them. I just have a feeling they will get a win against Leeds for some reason.
