Absolute bargain. Salford missing a couple of players early on too, so a massive chance for us to start well and hopefully set a positive tone. Excited. Hope the fans turn up in numbers.

| I think this is a great deal. I bought two tickets, one for a mate who would have gone anyway who is quids in as a result and one for our lass who probably wouldn't have gone. I actually thought it was two at £5 each and would happily have paid that and couldn't believe it when the woman in the shop said it was two for £5. Obviously the club can't afford to do this very often. It all down to the team delivering on the pitch so that at least some of these fans come back and pay full price for the next home game.

| Quote: The Dentist Wilf " secondly because around £5 of every ticket sold at full price, discounted or given away for any game we play over a certain level of attendance goes to the SMC. So this exercise if successful will leave the Club out of pocket.
'"
Wrong, as you know the agreement has not changed.
We keep all ticket income up to (about 7500) per game (done on an annual figure, say 100,000) , after that its 50/50 split on ticket income.
What has changed is the facilities the SMC are providing the club, they are reducing and becoming worse, so you'd assume we will pay less

| Just got back from the club shop, picked up Pete Allen's book, roaming the range together on the way in read it while standing in the long queue popped it back on the shelf and bought six tickets for 15 quid, result. Lots of people buying lots of merchandise while in the queue, so maybe a clever marketing ploy.

| It's a good idea as a one off for first game of the season but any more than that and it devalues the full match day ticket especially if there is an expectation of discounted tickets throughout the season. It's similar to the giveaway for internationals and CC/GF tickets. RL fans are notorious for moaning at ticket prices and wanting them cheaply, it all serves to undersell the sport as a whole.
Watching any SL club is dirt cheap if you can get to most of the home matches a year and buy a season pass, whether people actually want to go is another matter and there is the problem for a while. hopefully we can show a massive improvement this year and lure fans back, the investment by general memberships to offset the reduction in full memberships will go some way toward the losses but offering (very) cheap tickets to pass members several times a year is not the way to go IMHO.

| I've been a bit cynical about closing the north stand but it does seem as if there will be a good atmosphere, most certainly better than usual with the fans more packed in together now. Maybe they will put them big flags of the teams crests on the seats of the north stand so it doesn't seem as empty.

Wasn't too bad even when the North stand emptied 15 mins before the end of the derby friendly.
