We've got leaders. Fitzgibbon for example - thats not the problem.

| Quote: Amadeo Avogadro "Salary cap? Quota? The fact that he probably wouldn't make that much difference?
He would probably have improved our kicking game last night, but he wouldn't have prevented us from missing 20-odd tackles and only completing just over half of our sets. Lack of half backs is not helping matters, but the problems last night were much more profound.'"
salary cap you can get round by giving him a pay as you play contract or something like radlinski had at wigan were he plays for nothing but still gets his coaching pay packet....as for quota ..has he not got a british passport... thats why he was waiting around to play last time wasnt it??

If he plays his salary goes on the the cap for the rest of the season.

| Webster is an organiser, something you clearly lack without Long.

Actually, you can't. The minute he plays a game, all of his coaching salary will count on the salary cap. As far as I understand it, anyway.

It would depend on the 'fed-trained' thing. I don't know how we'd stand on that, to be honest.

| We need direction on the field, Webster may give us that, we cant do any worse than try but overall its Agars fault for putting his all eggs in one basket this season with Long, no plan B all year.
Its not rocket science Rule: 2 new halfbacks and a frigging coach!!
As regards salary cap, no one on here knows how much weve spent no matter how much they think theyre in the know. Only the board and Rule the tool have that info. This club has never spent money in abundance so how people can come to the conclusion weve spent the full £1.6m is beyond me.

Webster [iwas[/i an organiser. And he was so good at SL level that Rovers replaced him with Dobson. Since then, he's played only national league rugby (unless you count the one game he played for Hull), and not very recently at that.
I'm not knocking the guy, but I really don't think he's the answer. If you're trying to bring back someone like Allan Langer (not now, obviously) to bail you out, then it might be worth a punt. But Webster was only ever average and his best days are long behind him.

| If Webster didn't get injured he would have been our 7 until at least the end of that season and then who knows what would have happened.
If in the short term you want some direction around the park and a good short kicking game then you have the right man but like I say only a short term fix

Yes. I'm sure Rovers would have got rid of a player they were intending to keep the following season just because he picked up an injury. He'd been a loyal servant to Rovers for many years, they wouldn't have just ditched him because he was injured unless they were planning to get rid anyway.

If he had been playing SL relatively recently, I'd agree. But he hasn't played at all for ages, and when he did it was in the Championship. At his best, he'd have been a decent option for cover. But those days are long gone. He'll be as rusty as hell and a yard or two off the pace. That wouldn't improve things one jot.

Ankle strapped up - Lee Richardson and Craig Murdock reckoned could be a recurrence of a previous achilles injury.
