| I don't get all the hype surrounding Hall. He has the potential to be a good player - though this potential has yet to be realised on a regular basis - but I just can't see that he'll be a 'star', an 'international', 'the best centre in the city' etc etc. I just think he'll be a decent, middle of the road, SL centre.

| Lets be honest all those who hoped he was going to be like his father, he is too light for todays and is not quick enough of the mark and over a long distance to be a winger, he proved his weakness in defence last year at fullback and lack of out and out speed at Saints this year. I think time to give other youngsters a chance, next season.

| The independent test of whether Hall has the potential most on here think he has will be how many clubs (other than Rovers) try and tap him up before the end of the season. Would Leeds/Saints/Wigan/Hudds/Catalans/Bradford for example be in for him? He's played 50 SL games now and is in his 4th season.
FWIW the OP was about the HDM stating the bleeding obvious (Hall, a centre, wants to play centre, because he's a centre).

| For the amount of tries hes scored in the amount of games hes played, in a poor team (most of the time) he must be doing something right.
Defensive is something that can be worked on and IMO I would be gutted if we let him go.
I do get the impression he is made out to be a scapegoat a lot of the time, by the fans and coaching staff.
I don't think he has done anything wrong in the two games this season and yet people want him dropped so Calderwood can come back in.
Calderwood may be an out and out winger, but what happened to the old adage 'your place in the side to lose'

| Hall and Yeaman should be our centres but Whiting has been excellent in the first two games so can't be dropped really. Too early for Briscoe in the centres imo.

I agree with all of that.

Scored ~30 tries in those 50 games, hasn't he - in a team that hasn't been scoring especially freely. Suspect he'll always be a bit erratic, but he is exciting to watch, which IMO makes him better value for money than a more consistent but less brilliant equivalent.
With the quota coming down you have to take into account he is fed-trained and young. Leeds have a good pipeline, but Senior is ageing and Delaney non-fed. Saints have two non-fed centres. At Wigan Carmont qualifies as fed-trained, I think, but is 31. Not sure whether Lolesi and Whatuira have quota exemptions. I as I understand Rovers can only keep one of Jake Webster or Ben Galea (unless a contracted player leaves), next year. If it was Webster who went, I'm struggling to think of a better young british centre who might be available, than Hall. If he leaves Hull, I doubt he'll be short of offers.
Someone said they thought he was too small for centre - maybe long-term he might develop into a stand-off?

Personally, I would have Briscoe and Hall as starting centres and bin Yeaman. Yeaman doesn't have the ability to create a try from nothing, Hall does. I never understand this oh he's too young to start playing in a postion constantly (Briscoe). If you're good enough , you're old enough. He's a professional Athlete, regardless of his age. He may make some mistakes, but that's how you learn.

| The lad has a lot of qualities but unfortunately he does drop the odd clanger or two as well, however as a potential he does have a gift in his running style however is he as good as Whiting... NO
Whitings performances this term have been exemplary thus far and from what I have seen on TV also he is the stand out centre in SL so far so as said before his position to loose!! and as was noted in the paper he is making folk look at him again
To play Hall at stand off would hand him to the lions I am afraid he hasnt the brain or the stature for that .

| I thought 6 might have been the way to go with Hall a couple of years ago think he played there against wakey when he scored the legnth of the pitch try and set up a couple more has good hands and a tastey cut out pass. But the way he finished last year at left you have got to say his future lies there.

In a Leeds or Saints team he would flourish and yes i think any team in the comp who is looking for a centre would have a look at him, even Wire may be a possibilty with his family connection , but i cannot see him going to Rovers somehow

| I dont think Agar has the balls to give Hall an proper run at centre. For me , He's one of the best attacking centres in SL and is been wasted on the wing. Either play him or bin him .
