| Also you need to take matchdays into consideration. Some people just cannot make lancashire for a friday night kick off. Other teams benefit from being very close to a number of clubs hence skewing the results.
All in all it is a well put together bit of research and scored well.

The methodology! Like someone said, Saints are one of the biggest home games of the season for many clubs, but they often bring less then several teams to CP, e.g. Wire, Wigan, Leeds, Hull (obviously) have all brought more at different points.
Just a silly thing really (which must have taken someone a lot of time to do! ).

| Daft way of working it out. I think both Hull and Rovers fans can be proud of their away support. There's already a minimum 45 miles on the clock before you even think about leaving Hull for an away fixture.

| What it shows, better than away support in the strictest sense, is what a fixture adds to overall attendance. Two main factors are looked at together IMO - size of away support and attractiveness to walk-up home support. I take no pride in saying that Hull and Rovers decent performances are likely more down to travelling support, as I suspect they are not among the glamour fixtures like Wigan/Saints/Leeds.
Rovers, away support might be the best - [irelative to total support[/i.

Wouldn't disagree with that.

Super League clubs yesterday gave their unanimous backing for a merger between Gateshead and Hull Sharks. The move brings to an end Super League rugby in Gateshead as the newly-formed club will play in Hull. The merger's acceptance means the new club will receive £1.25m over two years[/b:29hh40bl].[/color:29hh40bl]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_47724.gif |

| Regardless of rivalry both Hull's & Rovers away support is superb.
And the derby atmosphere cannot be matched in my opinion by any other superleague derby.
It's the only "proper" derby and long may it coninue.

| The fact that Harlequins finished 2nd highest at KC when in reality they were probably the 2nd lowest attendees to the KC leaves it open to ridicule.
As someone has already pointed out regular fans and neutrals are more likely to turn out if saints or leeds are playing than lower teams, which in turn beefs up thier attendance.

Exactly . Clubs in West Yorkshire and Lancs are that close together most away games are like a home one !

| They need to factor in which fixtures were televised aswell. This would affect the number of Home fans deciding to stop at home and as such meaning the away crowd would look poor.

| Just thinking abut how I remember them appearing in the stands at Hull (and I bet it's the same at Rovers) I would work it out as:
Wire, Rovers, Hull, Wigan (top echelon)
Leeds, Bradford, Saints, Cas (2nd echelon)
Hudds, Salford, (3rd echelon)
Catalans, Quins, Crusaders (why bother echelon)

| Think you can factor in geography as well to a small extent. Teams based in West Yorkshire; Leeds, Bradford, Wakey, Cas and Hudds have far shorter distances to travel to Lancashire; Saints, Wire, Salford Wigan etc and Visa versa.
I think it's only a small factor but i know i personally attend more away games in West Yorks then i do in Lancashire due to distance/time. I'm pretty sure if i lived middle ground i'd be more enabled to take in more games.

Excellent points mate. Amazes me how both Hull clubs take (for example) as many to Leeds or Cas as Bradford do. Imagine how many either Hull club would take to Beverley or Ferriby if they had a franchise?! (it's basically the same difference when you think about it).
