| Quote carl_spackler="carl_spackler"Danny Tickle and Willie Manu?
Think you're looking for a bigger problem than is there on this one. How many other teams in SL have 2 really good quality forwards just waiting in the wings for injuries to get a game? Most have 1 and then fringe/younger players looking to take their chance, same as us.
Tickle, Manu, Laukai, Fitzgibbon, Washbrook, Burnett, and arguably Whiting. That's 7 players for what amounts to 4 places in the 17, how many more spares would you like us to carry?'"
You are wasting your breathe with that one tbh.

| Quote Gordon Gekko="Gordon Gekko"Its one thing getting outbid for players but to not be able to sign players despite offering them more money is quite disturbing.
My guess is that Hull will re-sign Dowes and that will signal the end of their recruitment for this season. With only fringe players left out of the British based players available there doesn't seem to be anyone out there who would make any significant difference to the team. Paul Prescott would be a decent signing but he is very unlikely to relocate to this side of the country unless there is a significant offer on the table.'"
Hardly disturbing, they don't want to leave where they are currently settled, also happens to be the top 2 clubs.

| Quote Gordon Gekko="Gordon Gekko"So i guess that a great stadium, record season pass sales, record breaking merchandise sales, top youth development program, 5 years of consecutive profits, 14000+ average attendances, grade a licence etc etc really doesn't mean a great deal then in the grand scheme of things.
Also its alright having this large chunk of cap space left, but is there anyone available to spend it on?? and even if there is the likleyhood is they won't want to come anyway.'"
What exactly is the grand scheme of things?

It was supposed to mean that when top players decide who they want to sign for, all those wonderful off the field successes don't really mean a great deal. This is further reinforced when they end up signing for a smaller club with none of those off field successes and if EXPRO is to be believed, for less money.

When did anyone suggest that they would?
The off-field successes give us money to spend and a secure future for the club. These are vitally important things but are hardly going to interest potential signings. Players sign based on cash and the likelihood of winning stuff. Both Wigan and Saints beat us all ends up in the latter category.

Sorry i was in Mrs B mode.
She seems to think it means everything
You are right though it doesn't really matter that much, if it did HTF did Rovers manage to sign Willie Mason???

| Quote Dave K.="Dave K."Not really sure why we are looking at a young FB, unless tansey is getting released, we have Tansey, Whiting, Sharp and Young Briscoe to play there,
Also if we sign an overseas HB, then we could use Horne there.
I think we need 3 more players a prop, halfback and hooker.
I think Dowes will stay, we will sign an overseas halfback (not a known name) and hopfully we will sign Mcshane on a loan deal.
I wonder if we are looking at a young English FB, with our Leeds connections it might be BJB.'"
Tansey is not being sacked, they did consider it but they are keeping him on his final warning

| If Dowes IS staying he really needs to up his game next season imo. He's been a good player for FC and has a good injury record but on this (and to some extent last) years performances, his best days are behind him. Been a favourite of mine but I would have said thanks at this point.

| Dowes will have to up his game next year, we will still have 2 of the 3 cart horses who granted run hard, but don't offer much else. Hopefully learn how to offload in the off-season.
Even so, another prop would be needed IMO. Along with a young HB, and some cover for the backs/hooker depending on where Berro plays.
What are Marc Herbert and Grant Rovelli like? I believe they're OCC.
