| AP conspicuous by his silence !
The 6 mystery signings have so far consisted of Crookes & Johnson. At a stretch Galea could scrape in.
Two half backs and a prop were promised.
AP said months ago he knew the starting 17 and it was VERY good,
Since then discarded players such as Aspinwall, Nicklas, McGoldrick, O'Meley have been resigned or talked about.
Don't have a real problem with the squad JUST that AP really raised expectations - exciting, top class players ? At the moment only a minor upgrade to me - lets not forget we have lost Manu, Moa, Turner, Sharp & Foster.
Surely Seymour must be replaced after AP's public slating, full back essential.
Getting the maximum value out of the salary cap ? Now lets compare our squad with the top 4................Hmmmm......

To be fair to pearson, he said we'd signed some top class young British talent who would go on to play for England. Unfortunately, it seems those deals must have fallen through and we ended up with arundell, crookes, johnson, galea and probably mcgoldrick, aspinwall and mcdonnell

He was right in the end: |
|
| Quote: Barnabus "Not a team that'll get you in the top 4.
McDonnell, Crookes, Arundel, Seymour - all weak links.
The forwards are decent, but at the moment the backs don't have the ability to take advantage of the platform they'll lay. Right flank will look very weak with (probably) Seymour, Crookes & Arundel.'"
Hows your squad shaping up Edith?

| Trying to be optimistic...
On Humberside tonight McRae said Chase would not be coming and the club had to "move on". Does this mean we have someone else lined up?
If we were trying to sign Chase and have failed we cannot be anywhere near full cap unless the money has already been earmarked for an alternative.
If that alternative will be cheaper than Chase that may be why we can find the money to keep Aspinwall.
I'm just hoping...

He was right in the end: |

Indeed, he's allowed some private matters to be kept private.
Am i right in assuming he'd have to go through this process again just to sign an extension at Cas for 2014 onwards?

6 "In the Bag" was the term in July?
Before Ben G and Shannon Matthews (if he really has signed)
Was the bag tied tight? did someone let the Cat out the bag?

Spot on and the indications are that he won't get one and wil have to go home to Aus. It is also said that he was told thathad he moved to us without a Visa, he could have been deported immediately.

Why not compare our known team to last seasons?
Even if we end up keeping Seymour with Holdsworth, we have a much better half back pairing.
Imho, I think the only one we have not replaced with possible improvement is Moa, but then that would depend on the style of play that PG will want to employ.
Having had a few games, our youngsters will be even better next season. The known players we have coming in, will have a much better mind set. Hopefully Heremaia will be able to concentrate on sharing the hooking role with Houghton. Our coach has got his first season out of the way, and hopefully he will have learnt a lot from the last season.
I know we will get injuries, but I would be very surprised if it is anything like as bad as last season, and even then I think we will be better able to cover them.
We might still be improved further with new recruits.
To fit them in under the cap, we could lose Seymour, perhaps Tickle and even retire Horn if need be.
