| I just think that the results weekend gone has in a way dictated how this goes, Chester must now see that even if they win Friday it's going to be a slim chance them getting the 8th place and a bruising derby potentially risking more injuries or worsening any niggles could reduce their chances of winning the CC semi significantly.
The CC is all they realistically have and as another poster says putting all their eggs into that basket might be the best thing. I think it has by far the greater reward than to win what is really a pointless league match in the grand scheme of things.
Niether of us or Rovers are going to trouble the top 4 IMO and by not risking everything could put them in a better position to actually reach a final. Even if they lost the semi they could regroup and get out the middle 8s no problems
I understand that winning against us gives them chance to make the 8 but is that reward enough to sacrifice a chance at reaching Wembley and not only a shot at a trophy but the financial rewards also?
I think us by 12

If everyone went out of business, I think we'd still find a way to finish outside the Top 6...... but still pass it off as progress.

Don't worry Staffs, the Rugby Branch is also confident.
Pulled into Rugby Station tonight and the car in front had an FC Car Sticker. If that's not an omen, I don't know what is!
'FC's here, FC's there, FC's every *******where......

| I think we'll win this one, we've been pretty solid at home all year. We seem to have 2 different teams playing week in week out dependent on where we're playing. Bottom line is it will make no difference to the league position. We'll lose to saints with a makeshift team being sent over there and you'll beat a Wigan team who make our away form look decent.
I'm just hoping that CC doesn't risk Kelly if there's a chance of aggravating an injury as in the long run we'll need him more in the weeks to come.
Chisholm wont play. would be madness to expect him to play in a crucial position just a day or 2 after landing here.

| Found it funny that on Sunday, Chester said "Rovers are not a one man team". After the game he said, "I wish I had 17 Albert Kelly's".
With or without Kelly, our bigger, superior pack will tear them apart. Especially if Haribo Walker is playing.

| It's not our pack I'm worried about even without Paea, it's our very poor backs that are the concern.

| The last time Hull won and Rovers lost their fixtures prior to a super league derby (if my research is correct!), led to Hull sticking 38 points on them at Craven Park on Aug 11th 2013.
Unfortunately, this is also the last time I've attended a derby that Hull have won... Hoping to reverse that form on Friday night!
