Its one thing getting outbid for players but to not be able to sign players despite offering them more money is quite disturbing.
My guess is that Hull will re-sign Dowes and that will signal the end of their recruitment for this season. With only fringe players left out of the British based players available there doesn't seem to be anyone out there who would make any significant difference to the team. Paul Prescott would be a decent signing but he is very unlikely to relocate to this side of the country unless there is a significant offer on the table.

We've had the same problem for as long as I can remember. We can get people to come to Hull from the other side of the planet but not from other parts of the UK.

Not really, you cant blame them for wanting to stay or sign for Wigan and Saints over Hull at the moment, I also doubt there was very much in the offers and with bonus money they might even earn more.
I would be very suprised with a quota spot and a large chunck of the salary cap left if we didn't sign anymore players.
I would expect at least 2 more players signed before next season.
An overseas player and NL player.
Maybe another prop is Dowes doesn't stay.

So i guess that a great stadium, record season pass sales, record breaking merchandise sales, top youth development program, 5 years of consecutive profits, 14000+ average attendances, grade a licence etc etc really doesn't mean a great deal then in the grand scheme of things.
Also its alright having this large chunk of cap space left, but is there anyone available to spend it on?? and even if there is the likleyhood is they won't want to come anyway.

Think you're looking for a bigger problem than is there on this one. How many other teams in SL have 2 really good quality forwards just waiting in the wings for injuries to get a game? Most have 1 and then fringe/younger players looking to take their chance, same as us.
Tickle, Manu, Laukai, Fitzgibbon, Washbrook, Burnett, and arguably Whiting. That's 7 players for what amounts to 4 places in the 17, how many more spares would you like us to carry?'"
You are wasting your breathe with that one tbh.

Hardly disturbing, they don't want to leave where they are currently settled, also happens to be the top 2 clubs.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

It was supposed to mean that when top players decide who they want to sign for, all those wonderful off the field successes don't really mean a great deal. This is further reinforced when they end up signing for a smaller club with none of those off field successes and if EXPRO is to be believed, for less money.

When did anyone suggest that they would?
The off-field successes give us money to spend and a secure future for the club. These are vitally important things but are hardly going to interest potential signings. Players sign based on cash and the likelihood of winning stuff. Both Wigan and Saints beat us all ends up in the latter category.
