The only player I dislike is Ryan Bailey, Jon Wilkin spoke about him after the Grand Final and what he said about the fool was very interesting.

Yer, Wilkin has an unfortunate habit of whinging after their grand final defeats though. He's spot on about Bailey (I bet half the Leeds team agree with him), but he needs to choose his moments more carefully.

The union cap has a number of clauses so it's actually considerably more than £4m if you use it wisely, e.g. A "marquee" player doesn't count at all (it has to be either an overseas player or someone who has come through the club's academy - so that wouldn't be Tomkins), the first £30k of X number of players who have come through the club's academy doesn't count etc.

If unknown novices like tomkins are really getting £400k a year to play union then no wonder England were a flop at the world cup. The current internationals must all be earning close to 7 figures so no wonder they can't be assed to put any effort in on the field

I think it's the other way round. England were crap at the World Cup so let's chuck money at the problem.

Only the very very top players in the world would be earning anything like that and that would have to include sponsorship deals to get any where near that figure.
