If Briggs is a done deal then a fb and prop would be the sensible option.

Tansey at hooker wouldn't work IMO, his defence isnt good enough.

I agree that tansey needs to improve his error rate (40 last season) if he can, which i cane see why not, then I think he will be a top class FB.

Even if we sign Briggs I would still like us to sign a young NRL halfback.

maybe the player we are looking at overseas can cover both positions,also with cover from a new fullback tansey could move into the halfs.

Its one thing getting outbid for players but to not be able to sign players despite offering them more money is quite disturbing.

My guess is that Hull will re-sign Dowes and that will signal the end of their recruitment for this season. With only fringe players left out of the British based players available there doesn't seem to be anyone out there who would make any significant difference to the team. Paul Prescott would be a decent signing but he is very unlikely to relocate to this side of the country unless there is a significant offer on the table.

We've had the same problem for as long as I can remember. We can get people to come to Hull from the other side of the planet but not from other parts of the UK.

Not really, you cant blame them for wanting to stay or sign for Wigan and Saints over Hull at the moment, I also doubt there was very much in the offers and with bonus money they might even earn more.

I would be very suprised with a quota spot and a large chunck of the salary cap left if we didn't sign anymore players.

So i guess that a great stadium, record season pass sales, record breaking merchandise sales, top youth development program, 5 years of consecutive profits, 14000+ average attendances, grade a licence etc etc really doesn't mean a great deal then in the grand scheme of things.

Also its alright having this large chunk of cap space left, but is there anyone available to spend it on?? and even if there is the likleyhood is they won't want to come anyway.
