I quite agree with you regarding any business man willing to offload a load of cash just to pee off a rival. I can assure you from first hand knowledge that one of the brothers has invested cash into a local sports club. So who knows finger's crossed'"

Didn't Branson do similar with what is now Virgin Atlantic? I'm sure he did it to p1s5 Britiosh Airways off as he had some beef with them.

Either way any investment that comes in to RL is much needed as its currently not a sport that makes much money due to the poor marketing ploys and strategies by the sports Governors and Owners.
Hopefully with IMG these things will improve greatly over the coming years.

Back on topic, I do think that once Trueman is back on the field along with Hoy & Clifford and we can keep them on the field together we will improve my only concern is with the rest that have a track record of throwing the towel in early.

The optimist in me thinks things are bound to get better. Trueman coming in to complete our spine getting games under their belts and improving, Carlos/Savelio getting back to their bests after long layoffs, forwards finding a bit of forrm, its all bound to happen eventually right?

The pessimist side however thinks things will continue to get worse. Granted this is by far the worst position Wakey have found themselves in, however they have a habit of always just doing enough to survive. They know how and when to dig in during a relegation battle, whilst we don't. If we come to the final few games of the season with only a couple wins between us and them I would be bricking it icon_lol.gif

I’m in a similar boat here, you look at some of our squad and think surely we have to have a purple patch at somepoint. The purple patch only has to last 2-3 games to stay up lol.

I’m hoping this international break will be the catalyst for turning a corner. For me, we need to be looking at 3-4 days of real hard graft followed by a friendly against a mid table champ side. We have no one selected so can go out with a full strength side and then let kids have last 20-30 mins. Ironically it’s usually after the international break we fall apart so maybe we decided to be crap before it and class after

If I’m right, I heard Truey would’ve been available for that weekend had it not been the international break. If we can find a game on a decent pitch he could have a run and get 40 minutes under his belt before having the pressure of winning us a grand final with and unbeaten run all the way to world Club champions

Wakey signing players like Hewitt and Milnes are going to improve them too much or save them, they are decent long term signings. Same if they signed for us, not sure would improve our best 17.

We have shown we can play, I'm sure we will play well and win enough games to be safe. As bad as we are, we should be beating Wakey.

If I remember correctly you said the same thing about beating Leigh.

Sort of yes, I still think would could have beat then, getting a player sinbinned twice killed our momentum.

Leigh are a different animal compared to Wakey, as we saw on Sunday.

Leigh have a good 17, done really well so far to avoid many injuries, be interesting how they do with a few injuries to key players.

Agreed and I'd have him tomorrow as our back up half instead of McNamara.

I believe he is better than Clifford. He ran the show in the derby at the back end of last season.

Someone should call Britain's Got Talent. You are clearly a cut above us all on here, surprised your head can see a phone or laptop, given the sizeable nature of it, going by your arrogance and sarcasm. Caustic wit, oh joy, we have another Byron on our shores, at last .Hoorah!

Wow, you OK? Why would having a big head mean I can't see? Surely it would give me bigger eyes - y'know, all the better to see you with?

Arrogance is unattractive. Maybe you should just ignore my posts as I shall yours. You do not strike me as someone with whom I'd gladly converse, in any situation. Mocking people, just because they pass on information, which by their own admission, may well be erroneous, is your choice, for me, the world has enough bad feeling without us adding to it.

If we had a pound for every time people posted on here that they'd heard Mally Walker was investing or we were building a stadium on the old Birds Eye site, I mean.. healthy scepticism is appropriate surely?

Look, I'm delighted that James Healey is putting some of his considerable multi million pound fortune our way. Hopefully a transformative amount!

Haven't you seen us play these past two months!! You must be the only red & white in existence who does not have a forensic knowledge of every single shortcoming we currently possess!!

Personally, I don't think we will be, but that is solely down to Wakefield providing some sort of a safety net for us at the moment. If they were to win a single game in the coming weeks (be it against ourselves or anyone else) and if our current atrocious level of performance and commitment were to continue, then the alarm bells will become steadily louder.

The simple fact that this conversation is even taking place is testament to our dire mood and situation right now.
