Didn't think the atmosphere was to bad for first 20, thought us fans got behind the team pretty well, didn't help the team one bit obviously. Rovers didn't get out of second gear, it was so easy for them it was a joke, think I was actually laughing most of the second half at our woeful attempts to attack, was so embarrassing
Unlike most, I don't actually think it would take to much sorting, just need Pearson to grow a pair, get rid of Radford, who is nothing more than an amateur coach , coaching professional rugby league players to play like amateurs. Get a professional coach in and I think he'd have this decent group of players playing to a decent level . RADFORD OUT , money I save not going until he's gone, will go on next season's pass, presuming he's gone by then

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?:

Quote: Legends and Icons "Need to watch the game again because you miss things in the heat of the moment but defensively I thought we looked quite strong and for most of the 1st half we kept kr in there own half , I may be wrong but they only really stepped foot in our 20 from 2 penaltys in which they scored 2 try's , the 3 off a mistake from Talanoa . In that first half they seemed some very dubious call from the ref for there pensaltys aswell as the raising of the legs which went un punished (like I say I need to watch over again to be sure it wasn't just my black n white glasses) . The second half was possibly the worse half of rugby since SL started . On kr's 5th n lasted campese was giving so much time with his kicks it was a joke , attacking wise ..... well I really don't know we're to start it was depressing to watch and so predictable , really missed sneyde last night all our kick plays were shocking . I know a lot of flack falls on the shoulders of the coaches and fair enough but once they cross that white wash its upto the players , We looked rudderless while Campese coached that kr team to the win .
Anyway spending some time over easter with loved ones and then saints away !!! COYH iakow'"

If I was a coach of a opposing team against kr on 5th tackle i would tell my team to bomb it aswell we have been shakey under the bomb i just thought we came up with the answers time and time again we defended the best we have all season, hull made plenty of meters I just thought your halfs was poor Pryce once had a good running game and made a very successful career out of it but the legs are going and he seems to look more like a forward (in physic) these days, Rankin I'm not sure what position he should play but it's not in the halfs ,you struggled with Dixon's pace and campese game management,

Does anybody know what activities are involved when Pearson says Radford is rebuilding the club from top to bottom? Whatever it is he must be bloody fantastic at it for it to over shadow the mess he's making of the bit that actually counts - on the field!

Quote: Jake the Peg "Discounting the catalans game we've managed 4 tries in our other 3 home games. Absolute disgrace. No point binning radford before the saints game but pearson should be acting on Monday. noble the only realistic short term option as no one in the club should take it over'"

Maybe Tuesday. Wouldn't want to ruin his bank holiday icon_biggrin.gif

As for the game, nothing I've read here is anything I'd disagree with. I see Radford is blaming the players; well, those guys didn't stop running for 80 minutes so the effort is there, but they had no idea in attack.

Lack of ideas by the players is down to the coaching. Whether the tactics are inept, or the players don't understand what they are meant to be doing, it's a coaching issue. These are good players, who have knowledge and experience of the game, so they know what to do, but they need guidance to turn them into a team.

And that's why Radford has to go. Blaming the players in public shows he's lost the dressing room. Go now.

I have watched it back (from behind the setee and through my fingers icon_lol.gif ).
the first two were as a result of some very poor tackling, and the third should have been disallowed for offside. Lunt was well in front of Kelly at the kick. However, our try should probably not have been allowed, although it is arguable that Dixon lost the ball in the tackle.
That said we got what we deserved, nothing.
Last tackle plays were dumb and predictable.

After our performance last night and Widnes' win over Wire I can't see us winning either of the next two. If we don't we'll have 4 points out of a possible 20. Surely Pearson must act then? He needs to tear his colours down from Radford's mast before the entire ship sinks under him.

Still a bit lost for words about last night but others seem to have put it better than I ever could and the subject title says it all really.

Like we've been told a few times "it's a results driven business" surely when Pearson gave Radford the job as with most jobs,he was told this...not you're safe no matter how bad things get? Time will tell I suppose..I have a bad feeling that he will be given time to "turn things around" but unfortunately we don't have that time.

Quote: Mild Rover "You say that AP isn't knowledgeable about the game, but he's been immersed in it for getting on for 4 years. That's enough time to build up a basic but solid understanding - it's RL not astrophysics. Tbh, it's long enough to pick up at least the basics of the latter.
His mistakes have been more presentational and political - the early triumphalism that was followed 'only' by focused/limited investment, then (with hindsight) sacking off the wrong faction when there was a split in the camp.'"

There's two ways to look at it for me. Either he genuinely believes what Radford is telling him about the players effort and thinks one lucky win might start us on a run. If that's the case then he obviously doesn't know very much about the game and how it's played, because if he did he would be able to see for himself what is so painfully obvious to most of us who do know a thing or two.

The second possibility is that he knows he's made a mistake, but after sacking Gentle and backing Radford to the point where he has effectively said he won't be sacked no matter what, he is too stubborn to backtrack and admit his mistakes.

There's also a third option which is that he wants to act but doesn't think he can afford to after all the other recent expenses. I don't think this is likely though. He must realise that if he doesn't act in order to save money now it will only sting him worse in the future.

My hope is that he's trying to arrange someone else to come in his place but has no one lined up yet so is just sticking with his man until then.
We need someone with experience. Who knows what a winning set up looks like and has the ability to implement it into a new club. Who on Earth is there available that can do that?!
