There are hundreds of great businesses in this city who sponsor rugby right from under 8s to open age, they are the one's who are generous to grassroots sports in this city & the good thing is they do not have a motive! or a need for their egos to be stroked.

Plenty. Recently paid for new changing facilities for a local junior football club and paid for a community development officer in another sport to name but 2. Dont think he got publicity for either.

Oh that is handy, no link then, however even if true do you really consider that as being very generous for a man with his wealth ? icon_lol.gif

It costs a youth rugby team approx 7k a season to enter a Yorkshire League, a Conference team approx 25k a season. We have numerous youth teams & 4 Conference teams in Hull, a massive bulk of this is paid for by sponsors from this city, now that is what I would call generous! Thousands of pounds are donated to grassroot sports in this city & I have only used rugby, Allams contribution to grassroot sports is minimal in comparison!

When the Girls centre of excellence licence was taken from the east riding (it was based in Hull) Allam approached the club saying he would help get the licence back and would sponsor them, he even went to the press with this story, got his picture in the HDM again, and the centre never heard from him again! the guys a publicity seeking fool....helping grassroots....what a load of BS

He has no evidence at all - grassroots sport in this city has always been managed by committee's etc . A good example would be cricket I believe Cottingham CC who play at Hill top have just had Nets installed with the help of Sport England 2 thirds I believe and the rest £7000 raised by raffles etc. These Nets will help right from juniors Not every one needs or wants handouts from ego maniacs like Dr Death. Sport will continue well after him, Any -one who is willing to pay £16,000 PER WEEK to a journeyman like DJ Campbell well folks maybe you can see why he wants to screw us. As has been put so very well by the likes of Mrs B on the finance side even I can work out what is going on.

Quote: Mild Rover "They've never been much fussed about income, so long as it isn't costing any more than the original outlay.
Did Pearson not once say that he lost a chunk of money on one of the concerts?

I spoke to AP at the first night of Oasis gigs at Ice arena a few years back and said they should be at the KC, His response was, not worth it, there would be no money made at all. For other gigs, say REM if it sold out at 25000, it would still only mean £50k profit for the SMC

REM got 16k.......

Another point to how Allam loves and helps local sport

Last year he wanted to buy Hull YPI cricket club and Hull Zingari cricket club.

And merge them both, with their 200 years of history............

Every thing he has done is for publicity , seems to thrieve on it ,
We should all push for an audit of both the SMC and Hull City .
To find out if the left hands feeding the right or the right the left .
Don't know how can go after council with a million plus in hand at the Smc
Can't he be declared insane with we don't like Hull Fair when it attracks 12 million visitors think more than use what he beleaves is his stadium.

If Allam (or Allam in the guise of the SMC) brings a claim against the council or FC he will have to disclose to his opponents and the court all sorts of documents relevant to the claim including financial ones. Commercial sensitivity or confidentiality is no excuse to avoid disclosure so it could get interesting. If he does go down this route I hope the council and AP have the b*lls to stand up to him because that's the only way to deal with a bully.

Quote: Mick Cranes Sidestep "Not every sports club has a positive experience. Ask Hull Ionians - the generous gift to them was attached to a request for the deeds to Brantingham Park - which I believe was declined.'"

Yeah he said he would take them over and let them play at the KC but was repeatedly told he couldn't have the land as it was not theirs to sell. In the final meeting he said what's in it for me. He was told again he couldn't have the land, at this point he walked away

12 million visitors? Hull Fair attracts around 1 million visitors a year. But yeah the man's loopy
