Do you even understand what you're talking about?

It was intended as a joke. I apologise if you found my (attempt at) humour overly robust or simply not funny. My point is serious though - that everybody near enough, myself included, tends to see the best way forward for the sport as a path which 'coincidentally' is advantageous to their club. That's not to say that the opinion isn't genuinely felt or that the interests of the wider game and any particular club mightn't genuinely coincide from time to time.
But can you really tell me that you're not sceptical about many Salford fans' recently voiced views on adjustments to the cap? Or the 'incentives' that certain clubs' fans request that will just happen to reward things that, wonder of wonders, their club is doing already. Or the arguments about who has got the tier end of the RFL stick between Wakefield and Bradford fans. If you're one of those rare souls who'd have a devil take the hindmost attitude even if their club was currently hindmost, I apologise unreservedly. But you must surely acknowledge that what you advocate is so well aligned with what benefits Warrington, that it is likely to provoke cynicism - however unfair it is, you can't be very surprised.
And to dismiss Cas and Wakefield as uncompetitive and therefore, by implication, unimportant - that's not going to win a lot of sympathy.

I highly doubt that's true.

30566.jpg I don't see it as a job. It is a passion and love that we all share. Neil Hudgell:30566.jpg |

| Quote: Kosh "How much do you reckon a 'golden ticket' would be worth? Given that it would have zero value for the selling team, I'd expect bids to start low. A single ticket certainly wouldn't generate enough cash to make a significant difference to the fortunes of the selling club, while enabling the buyer to pull further and further away.'"
The Dr said he would happily pay 200k for a ticket in last nights build up.

Time will tell as to whether he is good for the sport or not but he is certainly entertaining and has brought a lot of attention to his club. This is the first time as a fan that I have wanted to crush Salford home and away.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| I can't see where these "Marquee" players will come from.
RU already does it and has loads more money, and if the NRL adopt it (likely next year) then we're back to square one.

| One per club I can see the benefit of, selling on the 'ticket' I can't get on board with. Too many complexities and will create too much of an imbalance IMO.
It'll just end up a bidding war about who's got the biggest backer, not which clubs can most sustain their spending, which should be exactly what we should be trying to avoid. What will likely happen is that 3 or 4 teams will buy several other tickets (more than one each), effectively creating a champions' league style cartel that will be far too difficult to break into.
As for the tickets, how long does the entitlement you buy last for? If Koukash was to buy up, say, London, Cas & Wakey's tickets, can he then hand out 5 year deals to 4 marquee players? Can't see players coming for only one, so do those clubs lose out for the duration of the contracts?

Is it any wonder I'm cynical?
How are exemptions to pay for dreadnoughts made in your own workshop any less likely to put at risk stability? Oh, but of course Saints have a few of them and Salford not so many.
Nearly every statement* on this has been self-serving poop dressed up as principle. I hope if Hudgell and/or Pearson speak out on this, they're just honest - we didn't vote for it because it doesn't suit us at the moment.
*honourable mention to Widnes, who if they have an agenda, at least it isn't transparent.

| This isn't about 'marquee signings' it's just 'busting the salary cap'.
London Bradford and Wakefield can't afford to spend the current cap. Classy Cas and Hull KR are fully stretched as it is in IMHO. Giants depend on Ken Davey and FC rely on our 10,000 fan base and commercial operation.
Salford have no youth development, Koukash is desparate to fast track Salford into the top four.
Super League is living beyond its means I'm afraid and although that might be depressing to some it's fact.
