Think we need to not get too carried away with what we see on YouTube, 99% of that footage is 2010 or earlier.

Quote: UllFC "Would be the strongest we've started the season for years. The only potential weak spot is that Crookes/Lineham and Arundel/Crooks are inexperienced. But with the salary cap you can't have experienced internationals in every position.

Its an improvement over the side that played in Round1 this season IMO (Note

Completely agree. What are people's thoughts on back 3? Personally prefer Westy playing wider and Tickle at 13. IF we were to have Holdsworth and Prince I think Westerman would be used differently to last year and more effectively.

Quote: Mrs Barista "Assuming Seymour goes, and we were to get Prince and McDonnell, is this our top 25? Not counted Cunningham. Looks good, bit light in experienced three quarters but Whiting and Horne could cover. Any more to go out? Aspinwall to be retained?

Shannon McDonnell
Tom Lineham
Joe Arundel
Kirk Yeaman
Tom Briscoe
Daniel Holdsworth
Scott Prince
Andy Lynch
Danny Houghton
Liam Watts
Gareth Ellis
Joe Westerman
Danny Tickle

Mark O'Meley
Paul Johnson
Richard Whiting
Aaron Heremaia

Ben Galea
Richard Horne
Jay Pitts
Ben Crooks
Liam Kent
Chris Green
Josh Bowden
Jason Crookes'"

That will be the strongest squad that we've had for a long time. A big, strong running centre would have been nice but we can't have everything and who knows how well Arundel might do.
Prince, Ellis and Holdsworth would be the most amazing pre-season recruitment that any club has ever done in SL!

For balance, I should say that having watched Prince for a number of years that his short kicking game is absolutely superb, he has very good hands and can create space for other players. The days of us not being organised at the back end of a set should be over too and he's a goal kicker. Also despite the strapping he does have an excellent appearance record.
All the other things I've said about him are true also, but I suppose in a less demanding league and the fact he'll have a partner that can kick long for him I'm starting to back-track on whether he'll be good for us or not.
All this hinges (as it does with most Aussies) on how he and his family settle, he's a McKinnon type, he likes the sun, sea and sand.
If his reasons for coming are right and he has the desire then 2 years of Prince will be two very good years.

Still would have preferred someone younger, but he's obviously the best option.

Agree on all points. I've been hoping for a George Carmont style player since Domic left. I wonder whether we may have to release more than Seymour though. Really hope we can seal the last two targets of McDonnell and Prince, like the look of that squad.

Lets hope we can pull this off.
The signing of Prince , as well as Holdsworth and Ellis is top draw recruitment.

It's ridiculous to question his ability, the only issue is his age and whether he'll stay fit

It will. I don't think the chairman would let PG & Bomber go round the world for a dead duck. They will be there to sell it to him and tie up lose ends.
Fantastic move for the club.

His opinion is irrelevant as he has proven on many many occasions.

IN this instance, he could be proven right, but lets hope not.

Why would i have a problem with it i,m hoping we sign him, you're the one who tried to put across all the negative aspects of his game you could think of and then 2 days later tell us he could be the best 7 in super league.Just seemed odd to me icon_confused.gif

Don't see how facts are irrelevant. Amazes me that people will watch a YouTube video and cream themselves yet somebody who has watched the Gold Coast Titans almost religiously for the last 4 years gives their opinion and it's dismissed.
He's well past his best, but is probably still good enough to be in the top 3 halves. Says more about our game than anything else.
