| Quote Jake the Peg="Jake the Peg"We have 3 better half backs and 3 better back rowers so he was always going to be a bit part player at Hull but will be first 17 at rovers so good luck to him. He's at the stage where he needs to be playing every week but not sure he's SL standard just yet'"
I think he is SL standard and I hope he signs for us he does come across as a bit of a baby if things aren't going his way I think ,he went well for us as he was a main player last year and I think he enjoyed been that and I he went back expecting to be in your 17 when in fact he doesn't seem any further on and now you've signed Westerman he will spit his dummy out

| Pretty happy with the Westerman deal. On his day he is a very good player.
The pressure is on him to perform and earn a longer term contract. If he disappoints then we haven't lost out in any way.
With Mini and possibly Manu leaving at the end of the year we need to recuit in the back row and quality players are hardly falling from the tree.
As has been said we should trust Pearson, Ellis and Radford's judgement. Some fans were concerned about Kelly joining the club and he has settled in perfectly.

| Little risk on our part.
If he knuckles down and plays well then we have a decent replacement in the back row.
If he doesn't then we simply don't extend his contract.
Shrewd move imo.

He's definitely not consistently SL standard but at 22 you wouldn't expect him to be and it won't come until he plays week in week out in an environment where maybe there is less pressure to perform to be in the 17 each week. At Hull one bad game would see him out whereas at rovers there is probably less due to the lower quality of the squad

| I for one am pleased with this news. The Player and The deal is pretty much perfect for us.
He'll bring the leadership on the field we've missed without Ellis. Just needs to get himself back upto speed now, and away we go.

Credit to westerman to , knows the risk of playing poorly and not having a sl club next season, would of been easier for him to sign longer contract elsewhere. Good sign

not a good sign that Toronto walked away from £140K, time will tell.

| Well its all down to him now. He knows if he doesn't perform he'll be looking for another club. I'll bow to Radders knowledge on this although I'm not 100% enamoured with the signing.

Good point, will be interesting to hear what happened ! Does anyone actually know how he's been playing for them?

| On the fence about it. Always thought that Westerman was a bit "princessy" tbh and preferred him running a bit wider than through the middle. But on a short term deal, fine. Abdull's not been commanding a place in the squad in the way that Fash, Lane and Matongo have. They can't all make it I guess.
