The giants get this constantly. Especially when we win (quite a lot this year ) if attendances is the only thing other clubs can pick to have a go at you then it means the rest must be decent! Anyone that thinks Thursday and even friday night playoffs at this time of year are a good idea are crazy- and it looks like both our teams are going to have to do Thursday again. We got just over 7000 - which is just above our disappointing average for the year and still got slated so it really doesn't matter.
The RFL are doing attendances no favours but as long as sky have them on a chain it won't improve. Our club have offered a refund of £15 for any game moved by sky for next years season ticket holders as that was the reason given by many who didnt renew last year- it's got so ridiculous.
At least now I hope it means we will have fewer trolls on our board about attendances in future as we can count you out.
Hope to see a few of you down at our stadium Thursday (unless KR can pull off a shock). But with Thursday night kick off it won't be easy. Supporters can be just as loyal whether they attend or not- it's what's in your heart that counts.

Ps you can't win either - because I took my two primary school aged kids on Thursday I'm apparently a bad parent!

I and those I go with are regular attendees and Saints was the last straw to put us off, even though I fancied us to win. I've also been to watch rugby in worse weather than last night (I don't think anything will surpass West Hull at a snowy Boulevard). It's not really about the winning and the weather for me, it's about whether or not I feel I'm being taking for a mug or valued as a fan.

I agree with Mrs B that the team deserved more there based upon that performance, but then it's more a reflection of how people have felt about the season (and recent years) as a whole, and on that basis it's pretty understandable to me. Maybe we've finally reached the tipping point where enough fans just aren't going to/in a position to keep handing money over blind-faithfully without seeing enough in return. Possibly a bit of a culture shock for the club needing to actually earn a crowd instead of taking it for granted. I don't think they can grumble about that, it's taken 5 years to reach such a point so we've stuck by them, it's just high time they started to repay us, the relationship between team and fans is supposed to be reciprocal but has leant too much in one direction for a while.

The prizes? The earlier you buy, the better your chance.

Actually - the 5000 that went ARE the Old Faithful, and we DO attend games in any kind of weather!!

The missing 6000 can throw around endless seemingly justifiable excuses, but at the end of the day it's embarrassing that the rest of the league saw us playing one of our most important games this season in an empty stadium!

It was embarrassing getting to one of the 2 showpiece events of the season and putting in a performance of a park side in attack. If people not wanting to fork out for more of it is embarrassing, then like that cup final performance it's embarrassment of the club's own making.

Most of the posts on here criticising the attendence are from hull fans.

it was a poor effort from hull, but we know that you turn up week in week out just like we do,just that for this particular game, given the various factors,a lot didn't.
we get criticised constantly for our crowds but yet none of the reasons given for poor crowds wash for us,i hope it does for you

if we play you on Thursday I hope both sets of fans turn out for what could be a cracker!

The FC attendance is a one off. Yours is the norm.
