| I would like him to consider changing the way some Hull players tackle an opponent.
I am alone in not being impressed @ the present time with the tackle 'around the chest' method. I am aware that maybe the thinking is, in this way one can prevent the opponent from passing the ball. It seems that this method has by adopted by many [not just Hull players].
From my obsevation this does not always work & opponents seem more & more to be able to continue 'going forward' [in some cases] for quiet a distance before a third player is needed to complete the tackle, by 'going' for the opponent's legs. On some occasions the opponent is still able to pass the ball to a team mate & in doing so defeating the object of the tackling around the body principle.
I prefer that were appropriate opponents are 'brought down' by a good 'around the legs' tackle or, having an opponent being tackled by @ least two players, one taking the legs & the other the opponent's body [& were practical @ the sametime]. This hopefully would prevent opponents gaining further 'ground'.
This may have prevented @ least one try @ Castleford when our players went 'high' & failed to stop an opponent.
It may not be high on the priority list but in my opinion it may help our team in the future.

| I actually like PG and last month I was really starting to believe he could be the man. I really hope he is.
My concern is AP - IF we lose to Giants ( very very possible ) and lose the next 2 away games to Dragons and Bulls then we will have lost 6 games on the trot , out of the CC and probably 9th in SL with 5 games to go.
Does anyone think AP had this in mind and with his soccer history I think he would be so near to sacking PG.

Is it possible to inform us where anyone on this board has actually stated that or is it you making it up?

Again here is the problem, nobody sees Newcastle as a big club, like nobody but you guys see FC as a big club.

| Quote: heard1989 "Gentle imo opinion is the right man for the job. Yes people may disagree but there entitled to it.
But to answer your question, First off he understands the fans frustrations and comes out in the media and say's what it is.
Secondly, i don't think Gentle himself knew what he was getting into when he took over and even though he has made his signings, i think the players are struggling with how he wants to play.
Then you have the youth structure. He's bedded in youngsters throughout his reign in charge and with AP has created chances for us with many programes including the half back school.
I just think the team need's time, including Gentle. Many still forget that AP stated in could take upto 3 years before we start hitting our targets. Yes this year was suppose to be the year we kicked on. But as always, Injuries creep into key players which ends up being most of the season, Then the whole Seymour thing, Contract talks being in the spotlight.
I no you may disagree Jake, but that's your opinion which i will listen to'"
If Gentle didn't know what he was 'getting into' he should have done. He doesn't come across as a stupid person, I'm pretty sure he knew what the remit was for taking us forward and still hopefully will.
The 'whole Seymour thing' wasn't a shining example of the club as a whole.
I'm not sure Gentle's man-management of the situation was one of his finer moments since arriving.
Perhaps he hasn't had the experience in the past and I expect he's learning on the job?
As for his media handling, he'd get an average from me, but hey-ho, I want him to be a successful head coach, not a media whore, we have somebody else at the club who successfully fills those responsibilities.

hull have the POTENTIAL to be a big club. Fanbase is a massive key to that. Newcastle are a fairly big club, in terms of support and the fact they can buy and sell players for multi million deals.

'Potential' and actually been a 'massive club' which we regularly see on here are miles apart. Continued success would help but your club is a mile away from that, in a similar way to Newcastle.

And has been for some time. Your post is miles away from the truth that FC fans consider Hull to be a massive club now.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Like it or not, we are the 3rd biggest club in Super League. We are certainly not the 3rd most successful, but that is a different point entirely.

| Re the "Big Club" debate - We have been to 3 Finals within the last 8 years and Won one of them. We have a great fan base with one of the top gate attendances. We have a great structure. Great merchandise. On paper we have a top team (Getting them playing well together is another story)
And most of all we are only 1 of 4 teams to have a "A grade" licence.
So yes I think we are a Big club. How many other teams in SL can say the same?

HKR and Kerry Katona might be nearer the mark

We are a massive club. Big gates (although now dwindling), massive merchandise sales, Big rugby league catchment area, Best RL stadium in the country - only thing that lets us down is management and player quality - if that can ever be got right i could argue that we COULD be a bigger club than Wiagn
