At least he'll have his finger on the pulse: Not only at Hull Fc but the modern side of the game as a whole. He's had a vast array of coaches and players around him over his career. For me it is the right decision for him to retire, he'd started to show some cracks in his game and lacked the intensity to be a viable member of the squad, coupled with him suffering more injuries.

Good news all around IMO. Someone on here said Last wanted to be head of youth so seems rather than being demoted (from U20s to 18s) he's moved to where he wants and also I'd suggest his role now is more important that before. Rommel will be happy.

Pretty happy with this, provided the club stays away from all suggestions that he is being 'groomed for the top job' etc. Hopefully if we get another assistant it will be Gentle's own man.
Disappointed that Last is staying on though.
