The last 3 succesful sides (Wigan, Leeds and Saints) had a much stronger core of home-grown players and didn't do it by filling up every spot with an Aussie (Hull KR, Crusaders)'"
I'm not trying to duck and dive around anything. I much prefer to have all english or even local lads... I was just pointing out the legalities, if someone is European then you you cannot restict their trade and they can work anywhere in the EU. Rightly or wrongly thems the rules.

Still no mention from me of O'Meley saying he was a poor signing, his coaching staff did make comments about him though, did they not? He did a great job for you guys last season, better than I thought.
Moa, still proved nothing, not many mins on the pitch.
Lauaki, shown he is a liability, poor defence.
Tansey, pretty inconsistent.
Long, Injured a hell of a lot and didnt really perform that well when on the pitch.
4 out of 5 I got right!!!!! lol

| Apart from Fitz, do you fully rate any FC player?
And that's only because his old man used to play for the Dobbins.

The thing that's baffling about you is you don't have a good word to say about any of our squad yet tipped us to finish in the play-offs. Agar must be some sort of genius by your logic.

Agar is the best part of the squad for us!
Out of the backs, there is only Tom Briscoe who I really like as a player.
Tansey makes more mistakes then producing quality moments.
I would play Berrigan in the centre because Houghton is out shining him in the hooking role, plus he did a good job in the centre towards the back end of the season. Still not lived upto his huge contract though.
In the forwards, obviously I like Fitz, O'Meley and Houghton is very good for his age.
I think Manu and Tickle are decent players.

| Quote: PAUL M "Let's get it right Sammutt is not a world class scrum half and won't turn us into a trophy winning teams overnight but...he does offer something very different to what we already have and would bring some off the cuff creativity. He can also play in a few positions including hooker so would addgenuine cover to some key areas.
A good signing if it happens. Heard last week it was but not heard anything this week.'"
But how many SL teams have been able to sign a world class scrum half in there prime? None off hand, Sammut is young and talented, and if we sign him will be a very good signing in my opinion, and realistically the best we canget.

No, anyone that was trained outside of the UK is classed as non-fed trained and would count on the non-fed restrictions. I take your point regarding Europeans being qualified to ply the trade anywhere within the Union though.
Berrigan is now classed as non-fed trained but I understand this is only possible as he signed his deal pre rule implementation (200icon_cool.gif.
I find it about as clear as mud.
