Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?:

.... imagine how embarrassing it would be if he was a hull supporter.

Quote: Mrs Barista "Are you talking about the share capital that's been the same in the balance sheet since before AP bought the club? I literally don't understand what you mean - which numbers are you referencing and in which year?

Because we don't meet the financial size (turnover, assets, employees) that require us to publicly file a P&L. Unlike Leeds, Warrington, Saints, Wigan.

No, because the first item is not a required disclosure and the second would be conjecture based on a made up valuation and an unknown book value.'"

Nope, this is a screen grab from the 2016 season accounts, as I said I looked at it fleetingly, it was 820,000 not the 852,000 I mentioned.
I asked the question, how much has Pearson taken out of the club in monetary terms?

'"

Take a screen grab of the 2010 accounts before AP bought the club please. Do you even know what share capital is?

You can ask what you like and I'll repeat that unlike Wigan, Warrington, Leeds and Saints we are not big enough financially to be required to file a P&L and associated notes including directors' emoluments. What we do know though is that dividend payments won't have been made because there are insufficient profit reserves.

Quote: bishops finger "No depth at all? we've got decent cover in all positions except maybe prop this season.

Hull have probably got the smallest squad in SL, a Hull live article had you down as having a squad of 26 and that included three young lads so I wouldn't suggest you had great depth in your squad either.

You have hit the nail on the head though regarding injuries but that applies to virtually every team.'"

I think most clubs are running a small squad, Wigan have really cut their squad back and Warrington also dont have great depth outside the 17, these clubs and Hull are going rely on youth players and this is the way to go.

Rovers may have depth, but certainly not quality cover, lots of championship standard players as cover, I'd rather go with youth players personally. Not sure your your halfbacks either, no experience or quality in the starting halfs, never mind cover.

Gotta agree with you about our halves, young and inexperienced yes, we need Abdul to stay fit and young Mikey Lewis looks like he's got a great future ahead of him. (Time will tell)
The championship standard players as cover is also true but there still young enough to improve and adapt to SL hopefully.
I agree with you about squad sizes, the top sides squads seem to be around 22 first teasers then it's kids, you only need a few injuries though and your having to throw them in.
I'm hopeful at Rovers well see improvement but need our key players to stay fit. Probably 8th at best. Hull I reckon 5th at best. (I'm usually wrong though)

Well, since the squad numbers are out now:
1. Jake Connor v Adam Quinlan
2. Bureta Faraimo v Ben Crooks
3. Carlos Tuimavave v Greg Minikin
4. Josh Griffin v Shaun Kenny-Dowall
5. Mahe Fonua v Ryan Hall
6. Josh Reynolds v Mikey Lewis
7. Marc Sneyd v Jordan Abdull
8. Scott Taylor v Albert Vete
9. Danny Houghton v Matt Parcell
10. Chris Satae v Korbin Sims
11. Andre Savelio v Brad Takairangi
12. Manu Ma’u v Kane Linnett
13. Ligi Sao v Dean Hadley
14. Jordan Johnstone v Jez Litten
15. Joe Cator v George Lawler
16. Jordan Lane v George King
17. Brad Fash v Elliot Minchella

Then after that we have named a further 9 players with 583 first grade games between them, but have left gaps for 2 further signings so likely will end up with 11. Rovers have named a further 15 with 281 games, but that includes Keinhorst who's done 129 of those and seems to have trodden loose dog turd into Tony Smith's Axminster.

19. Ben McNamara 4
20. Jack Brown 11
21. Adam Swift 135
22. Josh Bowden 164
23. Connor Wynne 8
24. Cameron Scott 11
25. Masi Matongo 59
26. Jude Ferreira 0
27 ??
28 ??
29. Jamie Shaul 181

18 Matty Storton 11
19 Will Dagger 34
21 Owen Harrison 14
22 Nick Rawsthorne 9
23 Ethan Ryan 6
24 Joe Keyes 5
25 Rowan Milnes 3
26 Will Maher 50
27 Luis Johnson 13
28 Muizz Mustapha 3
29 Anesu Mudoti
30 Will Tate 4
31 Tom Whur
32 Charlie Cavanaugh
33 Jimmy Keinhorst 129

Not much in the squads IMO, you'd say Hull have it in the halves but Rovers pack looks much better this time round.

Quote: Mrs Barista "Well, since the squad numbers are out now

Our 17 is much stronger, I'd only take Hall, Simms, Parcell and Takarangi out of those.

They certainly have more a more experienced squad, but players like Keyes, Rawsthorne, Maher arent good enough, we could go out and sign 3/4 players like this, but I'd rather play youth players.

I'm quite happy with our squad, based on those squad numbers we have Scott, Swift, Wynne, Mcnamara and Ferreira. Add in the fijian back and eventually Shaul, we arent too bad for cover.

We have 7 props, backrow lacks depth if injuries hit. Key is Connor, Reynolds and how the new coaching set up goes.

I'll be disappointed if we dont challenge for the top 4 with our squad.
