Yet he'll be spewing if anyone posts the salary of a Hull FC employee'"
I'll explain it to you. Sheldon was trying to put in perspective how much it would cost the club to 'double' Bellamy's or Bennett's salaries. He used our current cap limit to do that. Ok?
FYI Aussie salaries are a lot more open than they are here and most top earners wages in the NRL are in the public domain.

| Quote: east hull FC fan "How long has it taken both Leeds & Warrington to get to that level? Asking us to do it in two years is ridiculous.'"
I don't think it was demanded we made either final but after two years we should be competing at the very least. That is something which is not ridiculous to think about. Its not the fact we lost tbat has upset AP and others it is the manor of the loss. We didn't exactly tear trees down at Wembley so have no right to use the fatigued excuse.

| Quote: Anakin Skywalker "The two I mentioned were individuals not just a carbon copy of the last guy. You know they actually had character and did their own thing which worked for them.
Gazza as an example was a gifted if flawed sportsman. We wouldn't want gifted sportsmen playing pro sport if they don't fit in boxes now would we as that wouldn't do at all.
Nobby Styles was a great defender and a world cup winner no less but his game included getting stuck in which lead to the stand kicking I mentioned on occasion. We wouldn't want great defenders that don't fit in boxes now do we as that wouldn't do at all.'"
It could easily be argued that with a more disciplined structure Gazza and other players with his "character" would have been a far better player.

Well they both can play other positions. What would be more depressing is seeing McDonnell or Shaul get injured we'd have to move Horne or Whiting weakening the halfs or back row.

Indeed. But surely too great a professional not to be one of the beacons gathering everyone under the new coach's mantle? Surely? If not, his credibility as consummate leader at the club is quashed. He signed for Pearson as well as Gentle. What he does next is critical for him as a leading sportsman. I think he'll do the right thing.

Agreed, the fact that we made both the CC final and the play-off second round in itself meant we should compete in those matches, if not win them. Both were winnable games. Both were lost spectacularly. Not once, but twice in the most embarrassing of ways. Not good enough when it mattered twice. Gentles position is untenable, sadly, but the causes that brought him to this brink must be tracked down and ousted too, whether that is player revolt or otherwise.

And it could just as easily be argued that Gazza's game was based around him having the freedom to interject himself when he saw fit. That isn't structuring at all.

Coaches like Bellemy, Bennett, Hasler are set up for life.
And doubling their salaries would be more than our cap.'"
Depends how determined,is Pearson to take Hull FC as contenders ,not pretenders.
Bennett/Hasler ,Fans would've thought they'd never leave Brisbane & Manly - but they did, in fact Bennett has left St George to go to Newcastle.
My point is, if you have the money, anyone & everyone has their price - not just in the NRL.

Maybe it depends what view he takes of the role allegedly played by some of the players and the assistant coach in what has happened?

In multi million pound company's why aren't people turning to the Gazza's of the world then? If it doesn't tick the box it doesn't work. Sports and society move on.

It will do. Does he support dissent against the coach or, as captain, does he back the coach regardless of his own opinion of events. He could be between a rock and a hard place or he may believe Gentle made the right decisions anyway.
If Radford did play a part in colluding with the players against Gentle how - in the same way that adulterers form new partnerships based on first euphoria and then an underlying mistrust of each other - can he trust them once he himself is coach?
I know nothing for definite about this alleged player power and if it's played a role in Gentle's demise, only conclusions drawn from what's happened on the pitch and various second-hand mutterings, does anyone know anything concrete?

This last post by you kinda backs up that point.

Allegedly Radford is with the players in Blackpool for the weekend, if true - speaks volumes for mine.

Oh dear. Makes the HDM story incredible - Pearson cannot be that foolish.
