Not much of an improvement over Thorman IMO. And considerably more expensive in all likelihood.

Decent choices are thin on the ground.

This is my fear also. Thorman plays more like a Stand Off than a Scrum Half as far as I can see. I know they played well together for Yorkshire, but that was one game behind a dominant pack.

Hopefully we'll both be pleasantly surprised.

There's never any proof, but Dobson's salary was pretty well trailed by two out of the three parties involved so I'm inclined to believe the real value was not far off the public figure. If Thorman is being paid that much then we're daft.

Dobson is a cracking little player who is already far better than Thorman, was fantastic for both Catalans and Wigan and has shown some climpses of magic in his short spell for us at Rovers.

I disagree. I think Dobson's performances for Catalan and Wigan, while very good, have been over-hyped.

That's not to say that he isn't a good player - just not as good as some make out. IMO.

He's good enough to get us in the top 6 I reckon. Can you say the same about Thorman?

Take away his kicking game and there is not much left tbh.
