| Need somebody who will come in, crack some heads and shove a rocket up a few backsides. Too many of the players have been coasting along and the culture has been rotten for years.

| A shame it didn't work out for Brett Hodgson but that's sport.
Please get the next appointment right, Hull.
Dave Woods suggesting candidates as Smith, Wane and Rowley.

Would love to know how many, if any, of these rumours are true
Maybe one day Brett, or someone else, could clear things up for us?
Until then they will just remain rumours

Pleased Purtill has gone too. Stolen a wage the past 3 seasons IMO.

| Sad it has come to this yet again but the club were left with little option with the poor performances from mid season culminating the one of if not the worst performances in SL.
I can’t have too much sympathy for Brett if I’m honest regardless of any possible player power as he just didn’t stamp his authority on the squad or seem to lay down the law.
I’m pleased that Purtill has also gone as he has just had little value whilst at the club. Also Hatton has gone as a sign that fitness has been an issue which was clear. However you wonder just how much training was being done every day as the number of times during a week I’ve driven past the training ground while out and about for work and not seen anyone out of the field morning or afternoon.
Unless Adam can move the lines of Taylor, Griffin etc on then I would hope that Wane is the one to come in. He may not be well liked but he doesn’t stand on ceremony with players and won’t take or accept the 5h1t efforts put in by the players.
Don’t think Smith is the right guy for our next head coach appointment plug I’m to be honest

I don't think he is the best at bringing young players through, which is a key area for us over the next couple of years, so hopefully he will a people around him to encourage him to bring those players through.
Hopefully bin Purtill off and bring in his assistant or promote Shenton.'"
Shenton would be a good call but i think he will go for Gaz or both

Reading the statement regarding Hodgson being relieved of his duties its sounds as though the club may well have already been making plans for a replacement should results and performances in June carry on as had and most likely after the Leeds capitulation at home.
To be fair to Pearson he seems to have Hodgson and Purtill every chance to turn things around by providing extra money for loan players and until the end of the season but the total humiliation of Saturday will have been far too much for anyone to stomach.
I just hope Adam has learnt a lesson now and gets the right guy in that has a proven track record and experience and can also move on some of the players than seem entrenched in dishing out poor performances and thinking they are untouchable.

| Interesting times ahead after the Derby humbling.
Pearson alluded to purging others from the club , I would imagine Taylor and Houghton may be on that list.. Their best years are well behind them and in Dwyer you definitely have a more dynamic player and a good fit for Tony Smiths style of play.....should he accept the job.

Yep, Pearson, despite financial struggles backed Brett, by releasing Reynolds and bringing in 4 players. He has failed, this squad and the amount invested should have at least challenged for the play offs. That along with poor recruitment last season and no signs on improvements on the field has forced Pearsons hand.

Exactly and while I can't say I one of Wanes biggest fans you can not deny he gets results and gets players to perform to a high level consistently and does not accept mediocrity or failure. With the playing roster falling so far below any acceptable standards it has to be someone like him that wont stand for any ego's within the playing group.
I certainly think Wane would see the Hull job as an interesting challenge based on the fact that Pearson for all his faults provides the coach and players with what is needed.
