Ha I remember those Oxford bags, no good if you were on a croggie.

| Good arm wrestle of a watch that
Thought they all played well, a few inconsistencys With some, sneyds kicking wasn't great but ran with the ball well, shaul with a couple of misreads, but made a great break and some good yards. Thought Cator was solid, Satae making easy yards as usual and Sao dogged.
Not really going to moan about much lol Last deserves some credit for that.

Just goes to show how we see things differently, thought he looked dangerous every time he got the ball, made lots of yards and looked safe at the back, for me hes still our best FB,

| Another entertaining game. Great effort rewarded with a win. Think Last has turned the team around and must surely now be given a chance to show what he can achieve next season?

He makes yards at times and will break the line when the opposition are on the back foot, however once we are in their 20, his weaknesses become apparent, with the position we had yesterday we should have won easier, we wont be a top side with Sneyd at 7 and Shaul at FB, neither are creative enough, we can have one of those and for me Sneyd is more important. Look at the stats, 2 assists, compare him to the likes of Coote, Ratchford etc, he doesn't do what a modern FB needs too.
This season is has looked a bit dodgy under the high ball and was lucky in the 2and half when he let the ball bounce near the line.
Would another coach improve him, I doubt it, he is 28 now and hasnt improved his link up play. I just hope a new coach can see we wont challenge again with these pivots.

| On a more positive note, I thought our forwards were excellent last night, Griffin (English try apart) was the MOTM, Cator is such a workhorse.
Been encouraged by the improvements and efforts in the team each week under tough circumstances.
However I still feed we need a new coach, someone with a fresh approach who can sort out our attack in the 20 and goal line defence. I'd like to see Last kept on in some capacity, as I feel there is a good coach there, but not right now and with these players.

I agree on some of that, but still think our best team would of been kelly at 6 and shaul fb, if kelly had played last night we’d of been out of sight by ht, how many chances does Connor want at 6, very poor last night I thought

He is the best passing out of him, Sneyd and Shaul,he gets the ball moving out wide fast. Has the most assists of of any player, gets slot of unfair criticism IMO, but he has been better than Sneyd, who seems to escape most criticism.
If we play Shaul, Kelly and Sneyd, we still have the issue that we have to pivots who cant pass.
For me it has to be
Connor
Kelly
Sneyd
I think we must try and keep Kelly or sign a 6 if the club dont think Kelly is value for money. We would then have Wynne and McNamara as backup.
I think Shaul will stay though, I just hope he is picked on form by the new coach, as I don't think this has happened the last few years.

| What other top SL club would sign Shaul, I'm not sure even the likes of Rovers, Hudds or Cas would.

| Shaul does some good things. I dont think anyone can deny that. He's quick, he's elusive, he makes good yards from DH. But the primary role of a FB in the modern game is to be a third pivot, and he just doesn't have that in him. I'd like to see him on the wing.

| As I say we see things differently. Thought both sneyd and shaul played well last night. When sneyd has finished playing people will then realise what an important player he was for us. Anyway just a word on cator . Love his work ethic and tenacity. Also fonua improving and just doing the basics well So on to Cas on Sunday. Hopefully have a few fresh faces back esp in the forwards as some properly need spelling

Let Connor and shaul go, keep kelly and get a fb who as speed and can pass a ball, connors to slow and shaul like you say hasn’t got that passing game a fb needs

| Letting Connor go would be a massive mistake, would thrive if he had a good coach who knows how to get the best out of him.
