According to some, who knows, I would imagine if we'd really not wanted to keep him he'd have gone, regardless of recruitment.
We'll see how he and Holdsworth go next season, Gentle may have some cunning plan to play Heremia in the halves with Holdsworth and Seymour elsewhere, we've enough average players to compete, I just don't think we'll excell, but Rome wasn't built in a day, as the cliché goes.

| Heremia and Danny be hooking this yr. Think gentle said so somewhere, can't remember where. Rightly so as well. Best hooking interchange in the league. Holdsworth and Seymour if he finds his best form isn't bad by any stretch. Just need Seymour to find his best. But better equipped to do so. 2 good hookers a fullback that links a 13 with some nous and a pretty decent looking and offloading pack to play off

| Whilst it looks like we've missed out on the two targets for 2013, I still think we're looking at a much stronger HB partnership for next season. I'm hopeful that less reliance on Seymour as the go to man will bring a different game out of him. I know that the situation is far from where a lot would like to see it, but let's give him a chance to see what he can do.
I'm optimistic about next season even if we don't bring a "recognised" scrum half in.

At last a massively sensible post on the subject well said
Seymore has a knee injury he picked up in pre season aparently last year and was jabbed up all year due to this reoccurence of an old injury, he hardly trained and was on ice i am led to believe after almost all matches, its not chronic , not career ending just needs work , all the sensationalism on the injury has come from wild fantasys on this board...
he has now had this addressed and will play hopefully a full part in the coming campaign
No he isnt the Scott Prince messiah we all hoped for but he is also a darned sight better player than he showed last year and thats all because of the knee injury and not because he is junk, look back on u toob at some of his pre FC stuff , the lad is talented and should get full support from all ...
AND lets add he is definately the best defensive half in SL IMO so add that to a fitter Seymore , with a fitter knee and we should see alongside Holdsworth tons of go forward and a lot more savvy with ball in hand and i think he will prove many of us wrong in a big way ....

must be a very expensive player to carry (yes I know, £x doesn't count on the cap, but we still pay it, before the usual fellaters come out with that response)

I'd like to think that a players wage doesn't come into Gentle's thinking when picking squads

| one thing for sure is if either of Seymour or Horne is our starting 7 next year all our old problems will remain, the ball will be moved slowly and either Holdsworth at 6 or the threequarters will have no space to work in as they will be under too much pressure the minute they receive the ball, it was clear last year that once we played the top sides we seldom created any chances because we was put under too much presuure when trying to move the ball wide, unless we bring in a quality 7 who can give us quick, quality ball out wide,i`m afraid it will be the same old problem that has not been resolved for a number of years and a season of almost and not quite enough.

I am not suggesting for one moment it does, I just think he's an expensive squad player, but he's always done his best for FC, never ever doubted that, I just hope this is his last season at FC as a player.

2 ways to look at it i suppose, the positive slant would be that he hopefully plays that well next season that we have no option but to offer him a new contract.

Even if he played well next season, i wouldn't offer him a new contract. I would sign up a talented Young Gun And have him and seymour interchanging throughout seymours remaining year.
IMO
(Unless Superstar Becomes Available)
