Even a play off place may have a negative impact on pass sales if it's 7th or 8th (maybe even 6th). I believe pass sales are down this year compared to the year before and we made it to Wembley. Fair enough the performance there did counteract that achievement a bit but still... Wembley! This year we can now rule Wembley out and I don't see a visit to Old Trafford on the cards (would love them to prove me wrong of course!). Fans were disappointed with our awful showings in certain games last year and we have already given them one this year in the Widnes game so I fear we may already be facing an uphill battle to just keep pass sales at this years level.
So on the one hand, I agree with you Jake that the club can't really afford to waste too much time giving players a chance and hoping that it proves to be the correct decision. But on the other hand that is exactly what we need to do because they are inexperienced. They need a run of games to show what they are capable of doing on a consistent basis.
So I say lets do it, let's give these guys a chance. If it doesn't work out then we have Horne that can come back in and take over. But we won't know either way how it will turn out unless Rankin and Miller get some games together. If it means we're back to hunting for that elusive half back pairing again in the off season then so what? It's not like we're not used to it. However, maybe we have already completed the search and Rankin and Miller are exactly what we've been looking for after all this time.

| Wonder if Miller, will be looking at heading home in the near future, due to his missus being pregnant.

That's ridiculous, so many improvements have been made in other areas and it's quite obvious he's working with his hands tied regarding some players and their contracts.

So was Gentle when he was in his first season and still managed a 6th place fnish and a play off win.He came in the wake of Pearsons takeover and had Hetheringtons/Agars signings.

It is that kind of attitude that has landed us in the situation we are in today, and for best part of the last decade.
How will we manage to give the likes of HTW, and Reece Dean, etc., etc. a shot in the halves, if we are not willing to give inexperienced players sufficient chances.
So who is available? and what about the salary cap?
I doubt we are in a position to change anything this season, so we have to try and make the best of what we have in Horn, Rankin and Miller.

Can't argue with that, but I would say that from a performance point of view I think we're massively improved on anything Gentle mustered.
The way I see it is that Agar got us into the playoffs, Gentle came in and tweaked a few things (mainly defence) and improved us slightly. What i'm seeing now is a fundamental change to how we set up as a team in attack (Westerman in his role at 13) stronger, more powerful forwards fighting to get up and play the ball quickly, runners and support play. Coupled with that he's trying to instill a new culture at the club and running a strict regime built on respect.
In short, Radford's making bigger changes that you can't argue will be better for the club in the long term, he needs a different type of player. That's why I think he should be awarded more time, if we have to take a step backwards to make two forward that's fine by me.

I cant see Pearson accepting us going backwards if we dont make the top 8 and it looks likes pass sales go down again next season.

| Only Hull fans would call for a coach's head 1/4 of the way through his first season.

What if we finish 7th, beat the the 6th place team in the playoffs and then bow out gracefully in the second week?

With that unlikely scenario I'd say fair enough give Radford another crack imo though we will scrape into the 8 or miss out all together. We'll have to wait until September I suppose.

Like we did with Agar? The assistant coach koucash has appointed happens to be an international and ex-super league coach.
