| Quote: Jake the Peg "So a new signing plus naughton back, re-sign bin man and fonua and michaels to leave?
If ellis and fonua are off the cap next year we must have a fair chunk to play with although kelly will take up some of that. Another big winger and an impact 2nd rower for me'"
I agree with that Jake but you dont always need big wingers built like a second row its just the way we play.
Personally i like to see the faster wing but that usually needs a class centre to be effective but apart from Tuimavave we dont have one.
Our bench this season has no impact whatsoever and that needs addressing for next season.
Not sure whether Naughton has a future with us since Connor has arrived.
Rawsthorne with his speed and size has more potential as a future first team wing/centre than Naughton.

Think Connor has alot of potential at centre and can get his winger away, there is also Logan, who if he can add some size and improve his defence has lots of potential.
Agree about the bench, just missing impact player, get some players back and I'd play Mini on the bench,
Big year for Naughton next year make or break at Hull.

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?: |
|
| ...I think July was the worst case scenario for his knee injury.
Hopefully, it won't be long now before he's back in full training.

| I think it is worth a look at PNG winger Gary Lo at Sheffield. Jean has just posted about him on the VT and after looking at that video site, he is strong, quick, powerful and would be a low cost option which would mean a lot of cap left over for an impact prop/2nd row that we badly need

| Blimey, Saints have signed Barba using the marquee ruling. Ratchets them up a bit.

| 12 game ban to serve, unless the rfl give into pressure from saints as they seek clarification on his ban
personally im surprised he has or will get a visa after bein found guilty of using a hardcore drug! seems some fans of clubs forget this due to his form in the nrl!

| So both saints and wire running at least £175k under the cap but we're so near it we can't even play hadley.
One of the key things that radford and tony talked about was value for money on the cap but realistically we've only really got about 19 or 20 players with significant 1st team experience and we have kelly in that on not a lot this season.

Maybe that's why they are struggling to make the top 8 and are both very unlikely to make the top 4, whilst we sit in 3rd?

| As for barba on paper looks an outstanding signing for next season if the RFL uphold his ban as he will miss a lot of this year, although could be a Locke. Also like Sandow I'd be amazed if he sees out his contract, although I'm sure if he plays well he won't be far off helping Saints win a trophy, so I'd doubt there fans will care.

One off results means very little in SL, it's where you finish and I'd be amazed if Saints finish above us.
Leigh beat Saints earlier in the season for example.

I reckon he's only come to SL to serve his ban and will be back in the NRL next year. No matter what saints are paying him he could double it in the NRL. Great player though and looking forward to seeing him play
