Only the bits that are wrong. So, yes.

Me too. Nearly all of Pearson's talk was about leading the team out at Wembley. Whatever else went on, Gentle delivered that.

Same here. Rugby league isn't like football where you can pick up plenty of results you don't deserve. Generally the best team on the day wins, so if we improve our week to week performances we should pick up more points, so unless we see a massive swing in the share of points in SL we should at least maintain 6th but probably improve on that.

So you'd be happy if we closed that gap by the quality of our best performances getting lower?
How odd.

| Remember you were gifted 2 points at magic weekend, and 2 points against Wigan under 19's at the end of the season!!!

| Quote: AirlieBird82 "Not necessarily. Do you think if we had put in a half decent performance against Hudds last week that we were guaranteed a win? I don't. In the same round of the playoffs last year we put in a better performance against Warrington and we still lost. Better performances do not necessarily mean we will win those games.
I agree that improved performances in fixtures we narrowly lost would result in more points but as I have already pointed out I don't believe that would be the case in games were we were hammered. If Radford can take those sort of defeats and turn them into narrow defeats next season then is that not an improvement and a sign of progress? I think you've already answered that by saying sport is all about winning so anything less than a win will not be good enough for you.
We are not going to turn into a Top 4 team overnight so I just want to see signs that we are heading in that direction (as I did when Gentle was in charge) and my opinion is that more consistent performances on a weekly basis would be one of those signs regardless of result.'"
London away, wakey at home, cas and Bradford away. Marginal improvement in these games would have meant 7 more points this season, that with a mediocre coach and plenty of injury disruptions.

Do you reckon? We were, perhaps, a little fortunate to get 2 points instead of 1 at Etihad but had just scored 3 tries in less than 10 minutes so there was every chance we would have scored again plus I reckon the wigan team which turned out that night performed way above what the cup winning team would have done on the same day

Really we did, wish the rovers fans would have mentioned it. You are right though, you did gift us the 2 points in that game and the craven park game with your poor defence.

| I don't think he will be judged on league position alone. Style of play and consistency are just as important. If Radford can keep the defence strong and improve the attack whilst bringing through youngsters and finishing in the top 8 that will be enough for next season.
Good recruitment next off season and challenge in Radford's second year.
Some fans have suggested targets so that it's fair on Gentle. AP doesn't have to be fair to Gentle, he owes him nothing. AP owns the club and he can do what he wants.

All the Hull bragging rights are ours until Easter. Won 2 from 3 derbies, scored more points, conceded about 200 fewer, more competition points, higher place, play-off win and a major final. 2 in the Dream Team. Difference is our chairman views the season as a failure, despite this unequivocal supremacy in the city, because frankly in the big scheme of things there's no more sense of achievement in that than finishing above Wakefield or Bradford. "Small club" according to their coach, losing their most influential player, offering players contracts too small to live on (unless they like beans), and a CEO whose stated target legacy is to sell academy players to bigger clubs. Marvellous.

| You forgot to mention the loss of their best forward to a bigger club and the petty way it was "announced" by the One of Short Stature.

If we become more consistent, we will win more games. Unless we become consistently poorer. If we keep our defence strong and improve our attack, we will win more games. We can't possibly improve and then finish two places lower. 7th or 8th is a failure.

Maybe 'being fair to Gentle' isn't the right way of putting it, but you'd have question the judgement of a man who sacks a coach because he hasn't achieved the desired results, then sets his successor a lower threshold of success than the guy he's just dismissed.
