| It seems odd to me that a club would pay a broadcaster to effectively reduce the attendance of a match.
I know there is promotional value in keeping 'the brand ' to the forefront , but that must be balanced against actual income.

Indeed.
If Hull were not getting any money for KCFM's coverage as indicated by a number of posters, then thats not very good business on their part. Even worse is Wilfs claim that Hull were [i'putting thousands in to keep the whole thing going'[/i, which i find astonishing.

Do you seriously believe that someone in the local area, who could afford to attend a game in the first place, would choose not to attend, preferring to listen on the radio?

There was a significant investment of time and cash from the club to help KCFM get their RL coverage up to snuff. I think the idea was that over time it would move to a more normal commercial arrangement. The purchase by LincsFM seems to have scuppered that idea.

Indeed. FC Voices paid for an ISDN line to go in so we could broadcast the forums, KCFM/Lincs FM refused to pay for this.

i did send a e mail stating my disappointment with dropping the rugby here the reply -
Hello Glen
Many thanks for your email
We were willing to continue with the commentary, however given the current economic climate the costs were proving prohibitive. We put forward a few suggestions to Hull FC which would have resulted in commentary continuing, however they refused to budge hence the stalemate. We are happy to continue with Airlie night and the other coverage and will still be strong supporters of Hull FC, we simply won't be doing the commentary.

so it look like just the live games ?????

It was to facilitate the forums, so commercially it would have been a questionable investment, having said that, surely KC would have fitted it out for free.
You do have to wonder about the quality of the network infrastructure in the KC if an ADSL had to be put into a specific room and not simply routed via the cabinet.
