I think people are getting carried away about Pearce. I reckon he is some way down the pecking order when it comes to call ups to the first team. Green, Cunningham, Kent, Burnett and Bowden are all ahead of him in terms of development.

Green should get a run out against Salford but Pearce probably isnt there yet. Physically he is more than ready but his fitness and lack of tactical awareness would be exploited by a decent side. If we want to blood him in Superleague this year maybe 20 minutes against Widnes would be an idea, helps keep the pack a bit fresher too.

The OP just wants to see if Gentle is true to his word, not sure it matters whether its Pearce or Cunningham etc. Green should be in the 17 cos we are 2 props down, but covering Westermans spot is a little more open to debate. What I don't want to see is Turner coming on as a back row sub, I want one of the under 20s being there.

Please don`t chicken out as Agar did!!'"

Heres your answer,he said from day one that players wouldnt be moved around and youth will be given a chance.

Great to see this happening after years of it not. We could be about to witness the debuts of some future FC stars. eusa_clap.gif

I really can't wait to see Bowden play this season, and if he gets game time against Salford then great. I'm sure he'll be able to handle his own.

Can see Pearce getting overhyped. When he finally makes his debut people will be asking miracles from a lad who's played relevtivley minimal RL.

We really do need to blood the youngsters and give them a chance. Hell, you never know, we might even expose a future England player and club captain.

Absolutely right. You only need to look at the likes of Saints and Pies to see the benefit of bringing youngsters through.

That depends. If Turner is to have any future at the club I personally think back row should be his only chance. It needs to be seen what he can do there if him staying beyond this season is still a possibility.

i actually thought turner came good mid way/back end of last season. he's a good all rounder. not ever gonna pull up trees, but he a good option when the enviable injuries set in. he'll not see it like that and prob more on him self if he doesn't get more game time soon.

i was impressed by him in the Bulls pre season game. aggressive and difficult to stop. made a couple of half breaks too.

I thought he got better in attack but was still a liability in defence against better opposition. The switch to back row may actually help with that, as it's his positional play I think is wanting. He drifts too far in field and flails his right arm around like he's sending his winger messages in semaphore, and leaves them out to dry IMO. Sharp carried more of the can for problems caused by Turner last year IMO, the influence Martin is already having should hopefully highlight this to those who mainly attributed our right side defensive problems to Sharp.

Don't get me wrong, he looks a good acquisition. I just know Hull fans have a habit of overhyping potential superstars and the pressure piles on the young player.
