not everyone wants to sell, you have to remember these people have pumped a lot of their own money in, they want a return on their investment.

From what we are told there is no "debt" to the board, so its just profits now for shareholders......

of course there is debt, it's just internal to directors.
and why should they not make a profit?
Hull FC isn't a charity, and it isn't being run by philanthropists.

| Tried to enlighten one of your own in "FC Wembley 08" as to how you should be furious with your teams performance last weekcadoo wrote
And it seems nothing has changed this week either. Richard Agar has got to go. You have a very good squad with an excellent pack, some good backs and two very experienced - if a little injury prone - halfbacks. You should NOT be losing to Wakefield at home (no disrespect to Wakefield intended).

When Rule was asked about debt at a fans forum last season he stated that the club was completely debt free.

Many businesses are "debt free", which can often mean they do not owe money to external agencies, it is all an internal debt.
My business "owes" me money, but if you ran a credit check it would come up as "debt free".
Anyway, it's largely irrelevant, our current shareholders have their own idea of what their shares are worth.
I did notice last night a few players are sponsored by "The Addams Family" or other such small sponsors, what happened to the likes of Campbell Engineering, Stockill etc.
Recession, or Jimmy's attitude?

The question was asked in direct relation to the often quoted 1.6 Million pounds we owed at one time and how much of that we still owed. Rule quite clearly stated that we no longer owed any of that money.
Perhaps Mrs B can clear this up.

Not sure that I can, because we only file abbreviated accounts. This means that whilst we can see the total value of creditors, and the profit made, we don't get any detail of either. What I can say is that the creditors number has reduced substantially since 2004 and it's reasonable to assume that the amount owed to the directors is a big factor in this. You are correct in that Rule has stated that the club is "debt free" but we still have "creditors" which can be a whole host of things, from accruals of electric bills not yet invoiced, to season passes paid for before the end of November for the following season, to amounts owed to HMRC.

to be fair to the board the lack of small sponsorships (such as match ball sponsors, player sponsors etc) is hitting all sports due to the recession. Marketing departments just don't have the cash to splash on jolly days out at the rugby like they used to.
I'm not saying they haven't annoyed any company at some point...but its a different commercial world to 2-3 years ago.
