The competition is going to an u20 and you are only allowed 2 players over the age of 20. I have no idea what half wit dreamt up this fiasco but I reckon it will put our game back years. I think we would be better off doing what other teams do and importing players as and when developing players has now become and expensive and near pointless activity.

They want SL clubs to develope "relationships" ( feeders) with lower league sides. This would deny many players from playing the game and just make the SL club more powerful, perhaps that is the whole point.

Didnt know this was happening tbh, now I do, I feel the same. How old is maloney out of interest?
Just thinking that players over 20 that are late developers won't get much chance to sign full time for a year to earn a contract.

Players that are over 20 can still be signed by the club, but in order to continue their development would have to be sent out on loan. To be honest, they'll develop a lot better at Championship sides than they will in the reserve grade. Much of the reserve grade is a joke of a standard for young aspiring players to be playing in, especially compared to the Australian counterpart.

Whether this works or not will be later seen. I'd like to judge it after rather than before. It seems to be working well in Australia.

Paul Shaw has gone back to West Hull too but has had interest from some Championship sides.
