Quote: jimmyfivebellies "Unsure another big turnover of players is the answer. At this stage i would keep Phelps as our fullback, but would possibly release Lauaki.Add the good possibility Fitz will retire, leaves us with 2 quota places- 6 and a 7 ?'"

a good fullback like bowen/minichello, new 7 to replace long i feel these 2 posistions are a must no matter what. at this moment players such as lauaki, fitz, dowes, washy, burnett are all 50 50 if you know what i mean

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason. -[i:1c45x4hd]Emmitt Smith[/i:1c45x4hd]:

you missed the word "bloke" between every word

Quote: Jonny Boy IV "Personally think Green is ready and was very unlucky not to feature against Oldham. He plays like a clone of Fitz.'"

When I have watched the 20's this year Green has looked very robotic, whereas Cunningham and Kent both have alot of skill aswell as abit of biff!

Kent would be the next to step up for me, looks tough, plays good minutes, runs some good lines and can find a pass.

He also uses the Peter Sharpism of "dusty" sometimes. Fortunately for Lyne and Briscoe he doesn't call them "babies" like Sharp used to do with Hall and Lee. icon_wink.gif

Agar has already said how much he rates him,and the lack of injuries to the forwards has limited him. Also said that if it wasn't for his lengthy ban last season he would have played quite a number of times.

I think any of the 3 of them could step up and do the job that plenty of youngsters are at other clubs. We haven't really had any injuries to give them an opportunity yet though. Personally, I'd let lauaki go and use these 3 as bench back rower next season. lauaki's quota spot and salary could be better used elsewhere and at least one of these 3 will be capable of stepping up to the mark next season.

Just wish the only 3 players in the 20's who look capable of 1st team action are all playing in the same position. Why can't 1 of the be a full back and one a scrum half????????

I like the idea of as few changes as possible.
I would attempt to re-sign everybody but Lauaki & Long.

If we could get Bowen I would replace Phelps with him.

Lauaki to be replaced by Kent.
Long to be replaced, by who I don't know.

Cameron Phelps - 11 Feb 85
Matt Bowen - 8 Mar 82
Anthony Minichiello - 24 May 80

Don't get me wrong the others are better than Phelps but they are a few years older and have had injury problems, they could also demand long contracts and we could end up in the 'Long' situation.

Agree.

Seymour isn't as good as Longy imo, but if he's got a kicking game, stays fit and can organise then he's a far better alternative.
Just don't see other 7's available.

Seymour or Smith would be the obvious candidates.

Matt Orfords reportedly getting a pension push from Canberra so they'll be on the look out for another half.

my ideal signing would be bowen and at 29 i still would take him on a 2+1 year deal without doubt, i know hes had injuries and bad ones at that but that hasnt stopped him from performing pretty good this year and looks over his injuries. when omeley signed he was just in the middle of a knee reconstruction and was deemed past it ect and fitzys had his injuries in the past.
